Funny how they ignored seatbelts (for obvious reason) :D and thought getting tied with a rope to the chair was genius.

Anyone know what it is that Shino was saying as a password? Translator note I saw was "this is a cryptic line from nihon shoki", and they used the romaji but i couldn't translate it easily.

That's because even Japanese people don't seem to fully know themselves. Apparently it's a child nursery rhyme but there are many theories as to what it actually means. Looking at Yahoo! Japan it looks like there are a few comments claiming it is derived from the Persian language, but even that is conjecture.

The original text is found towards the end of chapter 26 in the Nihon Shoki ー one of the oldest books in classical Japanese history ー and is rendered as " 摩比邏矩都能倶例豆例於能幣陀乎邏賦倶能理歌理鵝美和陀騰能理歌美
烏能陛陀烏邏賦倶能理歌理鵝甲子騰和與騰美烏能陛陀烏邏賦倶能理歌理鵝 " of which only "甲子" is a definitive kanji. The rest are Manyougana (万葉仮名 ) kanji which is the precursor to the kana scripts (used to represent the Japanese language phonetically). The only notable structure appears to be this "をのへだをらふくのりかりが/Wonoheda worafuku norkarigai " which is repeated 3 times throughout the poem and is also one of the lines Shino uses in the password.

thanks for sharing that! i wonder if maybe it was just used to add an air of ambiguity/mystery and not anything too directly symbolic... but either way, interesting for it to be included as password.

np glad to have helped! Yeah I think so too, it seems pretty obscure and mysterious and I don't see anything too symbolic about it. Maybe something to do with the end of Japanese civilization while using a password originating from one of the earliest records of it?
