Is there a time skip or just became more confusing in season 2?

I like the first season and then watching the 2nd season I became confused on what is going on. Its like I am watching a different anime or the explaination is hard for me to understand what is going on.

Kindly ask if you can put spoiler tag to give me a explaination of what is happening in the 2 episodes

As someone who read LN, I can say this much there isn't any time skip and about the confusing part it was the same in the LN also, but as the episodes come those confusions will also vanish.

It looks like a time skip but it's not . Season 2 is just a new arc .take it like this
season 1: Reincarnation of Anos
Anos realizes that history is wrong or
changed
Revelation of zerga's plan and fake
demon lord
season 2: The plan of god to create a new law that
can kill anos using Kanon's fake demon
lord plan as a wrapping

i don't think there was huge timeskip (maybe a few months), but i agree it's a bit complicated. i'll try to explain clearly. [SPOILER ALERT!]

in s1 the story ended with an overall happy ending. The ''war'' between heroes and demons was settled by Anos and the transfer student hero guy (who was secrectly the new demon lord). And so there was some kind of peace between them.

This s2 probably has nothing to do with s1. the story of s1 has ended and the story of s2 started with a random angel/god dude that said 'yo, 1 of the students is the chosen 1 for a project so we gonna take him/her'.

So to finish up, s2 is just a new story with new bad-guys and new secrets.

the main story of s2 is about:
'who is that special student'
'who are the bad-guys and what is their plan'

This is almost very accurate.
Well even I feel the 2nd season is a little more complicated, well for that reason I watched the first episode twice. 🙃 The first season was majorly on Anos’s reincarnation and the Human World. But 2000 years ago, apart from demons and humans there were other races as well, the spirit race and the god race (heavenly realm).

(Spoilers till the 2nd episode ahead)
In this anime and even in Devil is a Part-Timer, the gods are quite wicked having their own schemes.
Well for 1 thing the 2nd season is a complete new arc, with 2 different stories at play - one of the Child of God and the other of the Spirit Race.

So 2000 years ago, the gods wanted 2 things one a child of god with the Great Spirit Reno and other was destroying the Demon King Anos.
But Anos had stopped the God from having child with Reno and given his Right Hand Man Shin to the Great Spirit Reno as bodyguard. (Who now is the head of the Unitarians) (I also believe that Mesia is the daughter of Reno and Shin)

But the Gods still wanted the Child of God, so they thought of another way, which was Misha. Both Sasha and Misha combined are actually very strong, they can easily be the vessel for that child of god. However I think Misha alone is the Child, because originally her existence was not in the “order”. And she single-handedly creates that floating castle Delsgade (which was the God of Destruction).

Now we come, to the four powerful villains who appeared out of nowhere, well they are explained in the 1st episode. Those doesn’t work under the rule of Demon Lord Anos and his 7 Elder Demons, but rather the Four Evil Royals who were born before them. However, Dityjon, Eldemade has given his body to that Heavenly Father God NousGalia because I guess they also doesn’t want Anos to rule and believe in the order of God.

Now you may wonder what the heck is this order of God which Anos disturbed because of which these Gods are after him. So there was this God of Destruction, Abernyu who was causing a havoc and killing all life. So Anos fought him and defeated him to stop destroying all the life. So this Goddess fell to earth and was renamed by Anos, calling her Delsgade or the Demon Palace / Castle. And her power was transformed into the Sword of Destruction Venuzdnor.
So because of all of this, the Gods couldn’t create a new order of life (I guess they wanted to get rid of humans other life forms to give a fresh start maybe?). Well because Anos did all this, they want to destroy Anos and create a new order of life.

Well all this is my understanding from the 2 episodes. I would suggest watching them slowly and understanding the story from the subtitles, because there is too much information and the pacing quite fast.

I am anime only so I will explain what I have leared. I will give some theory but don't worry I haven't read a single spolier. So they might be correct but atleast for now it is spolier free.

S1- It was about how anos reincarnated and how hero becoming fake demon lord and manipulating the great 7( don't remember exact name) iand is trying make himself sacrifice so the confict with human ends.

S2-In s1 many things were left open but regular watcher didn't notice because of happy ending. So I will state the things left open and explain last 2 episodes with them. Question according what s1 not explained.

Q1. The flashback in with hero stab anos to make barrier there are 2 more girl present with hero whose Identity unknown?
~s2 it was explained that one was great spirt leno(fairy leader) and another one was god.

Q2. There was once a god (god of time) came to interrupt anos while he was splitting the twins. What god will do next time?
~In the whole s2 all god moves will be seen and gods were watching over that s1 villian
If he can win. Well god after that was negligible Maybe because of plot or they were unaware about resurrection.

Q3. Why did anos only took his demon sword in the castle or would he needs to be present at his castle for taking out his demon sword.
~(This was a big reveal for me is s2 because it was my first question when I watched the series back 2020) Well the castle itself was the transformed or corpse of the strogest god of thier time(God of destruction).It seem that god was going berserk and destroying universe anos killed him and made him his castle and got his title. So the reason he can use the sword inside castle because the castle power it.

Q4. Who was the swordsman whom anos said he would grant his one wish?
~He was his right hand shin regalias.(back then I thought that when anos was describing his only friend he was talking about shin).

Theory- As shown that shin stayed back in sprit home. I think shin and leno are father and mother of misa (hero gf) and the wish is not sure.

Q5. Who the hell are these new villian?
~First is the father god nous Gallia which anos defeated in sprit home when god was kidnapping the great spirit for kid.
Rest are the four great kings:-
Think of them as lords in a kingdom. They were before the great 7 maybe before anos coronation but don't have more power than demon king.

yeah, the season just started episode one, and they just throw a bunch of new name and new face and whole new race/faction that never mentioned in previous season The Gods, overwhelmed the viewer with confusing information

Season 1 was about finding out the mystery behind the false demon king. That was resolved now season 2 moves forward with a plot to use a mystery god child to kill Anos. However there was one plot hole that wasn't answered in season 1. What happened to Shin Regalia? Everyone assumed Lay was him reincarnated at first, but it turned out to be Hero Kanon. The question to what became of Shin will be answered in this season.

Also, this season started off with a flashback, that may have confused you a slight bit. But there was no time-skip
