| After reading this post, I have to retract my statement that Steins;Gate has the most toxic anime fanbase. Just wow. First of all, to OP, that is not a plot hole, the others have answered you, that is called a plot device. Conveniently bringing Rod up to move the plot. Examples of plot devices are majority of female characters in Gundam AGE. EDIT: There are technological plot holes with the swords they used the slice the necks of Titans. Why are there groove/slots on the blades? We know that the blades are hardened, which means it become brittle (you can find this in most Material Science books). Why are there those features? It makes the blades easier to break because it creates stress concentration. Well, it is a minor plot hole, not something to nitpick about~ Secondly, to AoT fans attacking the OP and defending AoT, claiming it is a masterpiece. 1) I don’t understand why most people are attacking COTE fans, if he enjoyed it, just leave him be. Not everyone can enjoy a fiction that another person likes. 2) To be a fan of certain fiction, it is not right to defend that particular fiction and claim it is ‘perfect’ or ‘flawless’. There is no such thing known as ‘peak fiction’ or ‘masterpiece’ because every fiction has flaws. A fan needs to acknowledge its good things and its bad things. For AoT, its good things is its Production IG animation and great episode directing. For its bad things, its plot and characters (excluding Erwin) have less depth as compared to most other tragedy anime. Now, many AoT fanboys are probably going to quote me and laugh at ‘plot and characters have less depth’. I am going to explain why most AoT fanboys are denying it. It is mainly because most of them has only watched/read a few tragedy anime, most of them with AoT being their first few tragedy anime/manga they have watched/read. Why? Because they are very few tragedy anime these few years. The only big one we have recently is 86. Many people accused 86 based on AoT. In reality, 86 is based on an European novel according to Volume 1 Afterword. Getting back on topic with AoT plot and characters having less depth than most other tragedy anime, a ton of old-school anime fans have probably ripped apart these multiple times (excluding Erwin). The most other tragedy anime I have referring to are mostly in the late 1990s to early 2000s, a period that most people has not fully explored. Examples of these tragedy anime include Turn A Gundam or Soukyuu No Fafner. I don’t recommend Turn A Gundam to most people unless they have watched every Gundam anime before it. Soukyuu No Fafner can be watched at anytime. Watch Soukyuu No Fafner and you will notice that AoT plot and characters are considered middle among the tragedy genre, same tier as Macross Frontier to be exact. EDIT: The plot of AoT is based on Muv-Luv, a VN in 1999, a period when tragedy genre is huge thanks to Evangelion. |

If u gonna keep asking Who gave it to who, how did they have them ur going down the rabbit hole. Rod had it and he is a king so it makes sense for him to have em/that he had em, for eren to take it later, for the story to move (plot convenience), thats it.
