I'm your 3 episode rule guy, I immediately picked up Psycho-Pass when I saw it on Gits rec section, but it feels like a parody of Section 6, everyone looks like a edgy wannabe mature, only the captain and the old man seems like the only written ones for pushing the narrative forward with context but their contribution is not enough for me continue when the lead is terrible, I was excited when I saw something like Minority Report in the first episode, should I watch more, if yes then when it'll will get better and original?

Like seriously, it's more popular (way more popular) than Gits, Ergo Proxy, Texhnolyze and many other cyberpunk anime (They all look obscure infront of Psycho-Pass), just to be a joke?

Doesn't get better IMO. In fact, the first few episodes are the best, with the cyberpunk atmosphere and all. It becomes more and more like a standard action anime as time goes on

Why does it feels like OP created this thread to whine about how Mamoru Oshii works are great? Don't tell me you are another Mamoru Oshii wanker.

For your information all the anime you mentioned in this thread are edgy shit.

It's personal taste.
The question is what do you think... If you didn't liked the first 3 episode and found the anime conception interesting, then you should drop it.

You need to do some research about the people who worked on the mentioned the titles, only one is from Oshii. Yeah, I agree all this works are very complex for a one pisu fan.

I'd recommend you keep watching till the villain gets more screen time, which is around the middle episodes (episode 12 was the highlight of the entire series for me) but even before e12 he starts getting a lot more screen time and you start getting more hints about the truth behind the Sibyl System. If you don't like it by the time you hit the middle, then its definitely safe to drop it.

Side note, a lot of people shit on the show's MC, and I actually agree lmao she doesn't provide a ton to the show. Makishima the goat really carries Season 1. Although personally I dropped the show after Season 1 when I saw the ratings for the succeeding seasons (ig things aren't the same without Makishima)

Okay, I'll stick to it for a while because the antagonist haven't been introduced, I guess it's the white hair guy but haven't seen much of him, so, there is a chance of enjoyment.

The anime is really slow but the pay off is good once you reach the later episodes. i dunno about s2 and s3 tho since the ratings dropped heavily

Yes it gets better but it’s slow and it’s actually Akane who is the better character.

I personally liked Akane because she didn't agree with the system & went after her own head, solve things the way she thought it's the best. I adore the independent energy, I wish more female anime character would be like her. Also I think Akane's character development is good and she is a reason for other characters' personality changing, so she is important. But that's my own opinion.

I'll be honest with you, the anime is slow as hell and a pain in the ass, but if you get to episode 12 you'll want to keep watching.
As I have read I see that you have not seen the villain yet, which is the "grace" of the series.
If you really want to continue watching it, you have to have a lot of patience, it will be difficult to swallow if it is already costing you, although almost everyone can come to understand that the beginning is only preparing the characters for you because, as I remember, later it is almost all conflict, there is a little break and then final conflict I think.
This is already a personal opinion, but together with Fate/Zero it has the best ending for me and what I liked the most.
The music is incredible, both OST's and endings and openings, although if I stay with something they are the endings.
In short, if you're not enjoying it, you're not going to enjoy it anymore, because the beginning is a presentation, if you're not liking the characters I don't think you'll like them anymore. Leave it or continue, according to your point of view you will not miss anything or you will miss a great series.
BTW: In case you watch it, DO NOT KEEP WATCHING ANY MORE PSYCHO PASS PLEASE.

I think 3 episodes aren't enough to grasp every character properly but the lead doesn't looks very promising although I hope the antagonist will not entertain me but also make the lead watchable, though I like the other members they seems genuinely interested in job and professional except the guy who's gets jammed in the first episode.

Well you're still in the worldbuilding phase. Currently Akane the main lead is still just the rookie being shown the world and how the system works and "fails" in certain areas of this society.
There's also them introducing seeds of past personal relationships between the characters that become relevant to the main plot.

The first few episodes are episodic for the sake of the worldbuilding, but they all are there leading us to the main plot and antagonist.

It doesn’t get better. The villain is the only interesting part of the series. The 2nd Opening a banger though.

i don't think it's bad, but s1 was pretty boring. I liked each newer season more than the last, season 3 being my fav.

It’s pretty good, not just season 1. Idk why a show that wants to be serious is considered edgy, I think that’s just a dumb generalization that’s not really accurate.
The right mindset when watching an anime is hoping that it will break your top 10

If I’m being honest, season 1 is a 10/10 series. Every other season afterwards isn’t the same.

Yes it gets better. Season 1 has an odd start but once the main antagonist is fully introduced and expanded on it becomes really special. However I disagree on the lead character being poor, I think she's pretty solid but then again I have hindsight after watching the show and seeing her character develop

I watched the whole first season because it was a group watch and I was less than impressed with the series.
There is a lot of praise for it but I couldn't get past all the rehashed stories used to make this story, many of those really interesting stories that I had already watched or read so this really didnt bring anything new and I just can't understand how so many people find the villain fascinating when he is just so generic.
So my opinion is if you are already struggling on the third episode this one is not a hill to die on, it is very mid in general.
