| Incredible first episode, everything is at another level, with respect to other MAPPA productions, every detail is so careful, the OP of Yamashita brutal, the OST of Kensuke Ushio broke it and the animation... unbeatable, thanks CSM Staff. I liked to see Power with glasses in the OP :))  |
| This episode gave me insane whiplash with the downright movie like quality of some scenes and the horrendous CGI in others. I can only hope Mappa doesn't overly rely on it too much and future episodes will be in full 2D. Otherwise, decent start and a nice adaption of the first chapter. |

It was one of the featured 5 mangas or so. Eventually I thought I have to keep reading, see how this shit ends. It was also during pandemic lockdown, so not much else to do. I am 100% I didn't find the first few chapters that interesting, but out of sheer curiosity I continued. Honestly, Fujimoto has a wild imagination, so it was worthwhile reading the manga. |

| I'm still not sure whether the acrobatic sequences were CGI or 2D, that's the quality of CGI on this. The best example would be the cars because holy fuck they look neat! Such a banger episode 10/10 |

| 3.5/5 It's finally here. Chainsaw Man is here to take the anime sphere by storm but was it worth the wait? Definitely but not without some hitch The animation looks top-notch barred from some CGI action scenes that look questionable but it is very bearable for the most part. It blends well with the frantic camera angles but looks a bit janky in still angles. That's about the only major gripe i have with the episode. The direction and shot selections are other worldly and matched or even surpassed my expectations, the chapter was done justice and more some. Upsidedown pans, arial shots, pov angles.. everything screamed Fujimoto and his hard on for movies. Some shots resembled Hereditary and Midsommar inspired which wouldn't be surprising as Fujimoto already referenced them in the manga. I'm atleast very assured that Fujimoto himself is working with the staff very closely. The sound design and direction was immaculate. It totally captured the somberness and the overall dark tone of the first chapter. Denji's VA put in a commendable shift, I expect more from him down the line. Makima sounds perfect to my ears rn. Exactly what i would've expected from her character. Everything is set for the next episode for some character reveals and funny moments. All in all, not over the moon or anything by the premiere but it delivered where it mattered the most. Set the tone for the MC near perfectly and now we move forward with the story and find out what this verse is all about |

| For me it was an incredible episode, we started very well, I love that well-polished 3D animation and that it shows well graphically, the only detail that I marked and it was not to my liking, is that the fights do not go smoothly at least 30 fps forward, the rest excellent work by MAPPA. |

| LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOO, loved the references to movies in the opening! Also the voice for Pochita and Makima fits perfectly! So happy with the first episode |

Such a banger episode 10/10 I think you need a bigger monitor and some higher-resolution streaming. the CGI was indeed super noticable I wouldnt be 100% sure though. I think those acrobatic sequences (not the transformation that was easily noticeable) were entirely CGI or not. Of course here and there it was easy to notice, but tbh I think some of those scenes were indeed 2D. It coulf also be that they pulled off some Ufotable shit, like mixing 2D and 3D animation. |
