I already saw A Certain Magical Index a while ago, a series which I didn't like very much, I only rescued Accelerator, who as a character did make me fall in love. After finishing the first two seasons of that I found out that the third was bad, so I jumped to A Certain Scientific Railgun, but the beginning throws me back, making me want to drop this series. To fans or anyone who has seen the series, is A Certain Scientific Railgun really worth watching? Or minimally until a certain episode/season or something like that?

Well depends really on what episode are you on. First season of railgun has a very slow start. If you're like halfway through around 15-16 or so then maybe drop it if you got bored with it by that point. I'd say the first season is definitely not what made many people get into railgun. Personally, I watched Railgun S when I was a kid so I already was anticipating to enjoy the first season. It's no masterpiece don't get me wrong but it's still fucking great (both s1 and s2)

If you’ve watched a couple episodes and not liked it then just go ahead and drop it. The beginning is definitely slow, but it builds up and gets better over time, especially in seasons 2 & 3.

But, if you don’t like what you’ve seen so far then I’d move on and find another show to watch

S1 is alright, helps you understand the characters more. I’d say continue with the series because the first arc of s2 is great and s3 is even better, if you really can’t get through s1 just skip to s2 not really missing out on much

Like many people has mentioned, skip to Railgun S.
For Index, read the LN instead. The anime cuts a ton of content.

Before starting Railgun T, remember to read Index NT Vol 11 to fully understand why Shokuhou reacts differently to Touma~

It's basically the same throughout so if you don't like it now don't bother watching the rest

It's worth it to get to Railgun T. Now suffer through it in silence like the rest of us did.

Don't worry Railgun is far better than Index, the first few episodes weren't very good, just slice of life. The first arc starts around episode 10. Don't skip Railgun S as it's a far better experience than the Index version, but definetly skip the second arc of this season as it's filler and not very good. Railgun S and T makes Index look bad because it isn't rushed in the slightest, got one of the best director in the industry, and a far better animation too. Try to stick with Railgun, yes the beginning is slow and uninteresting but only gets better after that. A friend of mine was really bored watching those first episodes but ended up really liking the rest of this season.
Anime is love. Anime is life.

It starts slow, but later on it will be plainly obvious, that both Original Author and JC favours Railgun over Index.

season 1 is pretty much slice of life so if you're into that continue but season 2 and 3 and amazing and the ratings show that. You can skip to s2 if you want but the end of s1 foreshadows season 2 a bit and season 2 is great. So I say you can skip

Original author favors none. He just writes them.
