| The old 1991 anime only adapted 88 out of 349 chapters. The remake has 0% filler, they even removed some scenes from manga. 40% of old 1991 anime are fillers, even some character designs are not canon: Hyunckel's eyebow color, Leona's hair color,... Because at the time, the manga was still ongoing XD |

| The same reason why readaptation of Fruits Basket had 60+ episodes instead of 22 like original. Manga concluded, so it was whole adaptation and nothing is being skipped (so far) |

| 46 episodes of original 1991 anime = 24 episodes (& half of episode 25) 2020 remake 1991 anime is actually more faithful adaptation (they covered 88 chapters cover by cover unlike the first 25 episodes 2020 remake which skipped some scenes from manga). Only exception is the the final episode which did not follow the manga (had anime original ending). Also, blood and sexual scene (like Matoriv grabs maam's boob etc) did not get censored in the original anime. Overall I prefer then 2020 remake because it adapts the whole manga |
