Attack on Titan
| I've been thinking for a while that it'd be really interesting if an anime were to be created for SNK with the opposite aim of FMAB; diverging from the manga rather than actually following it. The specific divergence point I would love to see is Erwin being revived rather than Armin. Armin was one of the most important characters during the rumbling arc and, hence, is accountable for a fair portion of what is wrong with it. I would find it fascinating to see how Erwin would deal with both Zeke's plan and Eren's 'rebelliousness;' at the very least I am certain he would do a better job than Armin did, and could utilise the Colossal Titan in a far more strategic manner. Would you want to see this, and if not why? Do you think that in hindsight Levi made the correct decision, or was he swayed by Eren and Mikasa's emotions as said by the Chad that is Floch? |

| Nahh I am glad erwin died, or else i wouldn't have been able to see Erwin doing dumbshit like Armin. Isayama would probably make Erwin another victim of romantic sub plot, so i am glad he ded. |

| Erwin got his closure,just let the guy rest ffs. it's just like how it went with allmight in season 3 after the all for one fight,he should have died bt the mangaka didn't do it and almight pretty much lost all his value he had as a character. |

He is far more experienced than Armin and reckless enough to use the colossal titans power without feeling sorry for the civilians. Therefore he would be a better “weapon” if you know what I’m saying. However, one must consider that, if you take his character arc into account, he had to die. At first Erwin was a stubborn, egoistic leader that would sacrifice hundreds of soldiers just to prove his fathers theory right. In season 3 part 2 he was inches away from that basement in which the answer to all the questions concerning the titans can be found. If he survived he would have been able to get these answers thus he would have reached his goal. But by doing so he wouldn’t have improved as a character. By sacrificing his own life alongside all the other survey corps members that rushed towards the beast titan he evolved from an egoistic leader to an altruistic soldier that dedicated his heart so that the future generations can live. He gave up his own dream and completed his character arc. Plus Armin now gets the chance for some character development. To sum it all up, if Erwin survived he wouldn’t know how to be not egoistic. Now that he’s dead he learned to not only care about himself. Of course he might be more useful than Armin but for good character development his death was necessary. Thanks for reading. You made a very valid point, however if he had been revived it wouldn't cancel out his sacrifice. He would keep this experience with him and hence come back as a more mature and developed character. |
