Edit: In Japanese, it's "Xジェンダ" I meant there's no such thing as they/them and such They/them is popularized as a gender neutral pronoun in America, because English only has he/she when talking about people. Japan doesn’t need this because they already have gender neutral pronouns in the first place— Watashi/Jibun for yourself and Ano Kata for others.. but they don’t really use pronouns in the first place. If there is some sort of disconnect, it’s more of a linguistic one rather than conceptual— lgbt people in Japan know how gender neutral pronouns work |
