The table was her stage. The mobile phone was her microphone and the new moon was the spotlight. That kind of magic only NANA can make it happen.

To give a brief overview of her, she’s a mangaka who’s most notable works include NANA,Paradise Kiss and Gokojinko Monotgatari.

Her stories are well known for its huge sense of style and fashion given her background studying fashion.

And also her realism as well when telling these stories too to make the reader/viewer relate more to it.

Since what I mentioned has had adaptations, I like to talk about the ones that either do have been adapted but not a proper one or not yet adapted.

Kagen No Tsuki

This one is a mystery story with some supernatural and also romance as well too and also one of the earlier punked themed stuff Ai Yazawa has worked on. Also a touch of amensia related themes as well

Also a bit of religious symbolism as well too with Adam and Eve references.

It’s the only one she’s made that’s mystery and supernatural and it would have been so cool to see her work on more stories like that one day.....

I Am Not An Angel

Now this is one of her very first stories and also something I know horimiya fans can dig into, no bdsm jealous thot shit here thankfully

So its popular girl meets outsider guy and their relationships and friendships during the schooltimes and also yeah some teacher x student romance too....

It’s a pretty cute wholesome fun read and worth checking out. And the art still holds up this day and even had an updated re-release with updated art not long ago so do look at I think.

Marine Blue no Kaze ni Dakarete

Now heres one I think is really interesting as well too!

I like the seaside setting and atmosphere and with Ai Yazawa’s art it was really vibrant!

It’s a romance love triangle story and oh even a bit surfing as well too in the middle of a hurricane so that’s an interesting idea I think.

It was easy breezy pun intended read and I highly recommend it if you like beachside stories.

Now that aside lets get to the topic, whats your favorite Ai Yazawa manga or anime and enjoy the thread!

My two favorite manga of all time are tied with Gokinjo Monogatari and Nana. Love the way she creates stories and characters (especially their design). She's my favorite creator in the industry, period, and I consider her to be one of my heroes. I hope she recovers well and finishes Nana someday.

Oh I love her too.. I haven't read or watched all of her works but have loved the ones I watched/read. I've seen only Paradise Kiss and read only Kagen no Tsuki. The feelings she brings forth in her works are special to only her works.. I love the way she portrays love, feelings of love in her characters, that love that transcends, and character-writing.

The manga has a lot more pain in it as the anime still had scenes and stuff that wasn't implemented.

Also probably because of copyright, no mention of Ren's favourite childhood Anime that Nana records on video for him, Tatsunoko's Hutch the Honeybee.

I've so far checked out two of her works - Nana and Paradise Kiss. I loved both. Wish she would make a comeback.

Only titles I've seen and/or read from Ai Yazawa are Paradise Kiss and Nana. At least right now, would go with the former as my favorite from her.

Dabble more into anime nowadays since I don't have as much spare time to dabble into both anime and manga. The former looks like it's manga-only and while the latter has an anime, it's a single-episode OVA which I'm guessing was used to promote the manga during its publication.

Yeah its one of those things, where you have to see the manga to get more of the story.

NANA is a masterpiece unequaled till this day, I don't know what words to use to present the manga in a perfect way so I'll just leave it like that, the people who read it know what I'm talking about, nothing can get close to it in regards to feeling and life problems set in a real world.
Paradise Kiss was ok till the last chapter that made me wanna destroy something, are people still agreeing with it? I am mad because of what happened and the stuff is, I can't find the guilty one, goes to show how Yazawa is so skilled in making of a romance, it resembles a bit Splendor in the Grass though but still...

Also obligatory Asami best woman, she did nothing wrong, stop hating on her.
