Why is the rating so low?

I mean it is really really good — the scenarios, the focus, the suspense and the curiosity to know what is going to happen next every moment, it just creates a perfect environment for its viewers and definitely deserves a more appreciation because where a show like "Shikimori's not just a cutie" is getting hype for nothing, then how come people aren't giving this one more attention

Easily a 8/10 until now and as we will move further we might see the average scores going upto between 7.70-7.95 which won't be that bad IMO

It is delivering more than what I really expected from it

No build on characters on episode 1, I dont know or care about any of them therefore what's the point of a death game at this point in time? For a show that translates to Friends Game it does a pretty shit job

Death Games can't handle exposition, the narration characters theyve added add nothing to the show, if anything it takes away from it because it feels less personal and more an excuse for lazy explanation and writing too difficult for anyone to understand

others think this is just another squid game rip-off which i couldn't really see it.

for now, the show is at most 5/10 for me. But hey, there's still 8 more episodes, my score could change.
