Do u guys think this season is seriously underrated? This used to have the best AoT episodes(Scream and Warrior) before s3 p2 came with many great moments and more mystery but still it sits an 8.5 only Should be atleast a 8.7 imo

Spoilers:
Season 2's horror is freaking incredible. From The first introduction of the beast titan to the absolute iconic betrayal by Reiner and Bertholdth to the shocking yet beautiful finale with an unexpected twist that changed everything when the truth was revealed in season 3 part. 2,yeah,it deserves to be in a 9+ in my opinion.

I understand though I guess. One big complaint about attack on titan was that people said it was lacking in plot and was just a satire on tropes that just repeatedly killed off characters just to go against tropes. And the bigger plot mainly started in season 3. Season 2 was kinda similar to season 1 in the way that it was action-packed and could make ppl think like that. But season 1 was the first impression, and a lot of ppl like it. But they might’ve just gotten sick of it by season 2

i definitely agree with this season having stellar content! “warrior” is still my all time fav aot episode and maybe even my favorite anime episode period

S2 has appropriate score overall on MAL however bad compared to other seasons. IMO rank of seasons: S4>S3P2>S2>S1>S3P1

That's just my opinion bro.But judging it through the rankings,I'd say an 8.67 or some thing around that feels a bit right to me.

8.67 is far from 9, go check out how many anime has a 9+ rating

Nah it's fine but it's definitely 2nd best AOT season for me after S3P2, S4P2 might get number 2 spot but for now S2 is there

Horror elements are perfectly executed, Reiner and Berthold reveal was perfect, then Reiner's dual personality disorder, Berthold's cry for help, Erwin's Sasume, Eren and Mikasa moment and then "scream". Too many epic moments, perfect pacing, firee animation and soundtrack, it's solid 9 for me

And I just finished rewatching it lmao so I'm in the zone

The mystery and dramatic moments in this season are incredible, I definitely like this more than season 1 and S3P1, this season was so well done. The animation, art and soundtrack usage were also at its peak in this season imo

I liked it better than S1 and S3P1.
S1 started off really really hot, but lost almost all its momentum during the female titan arc. 7/10 by the end.
S3P1 was just dull. The storylines with Kenny and Reiss were okayish, but Historia was the highlight of the season. Wasn't 'bad' but I wouldn't give it more than a 6.

S2 though. Started off with a bang (monke), peaked halfway through (Ymir, Reiner and Bert), and then consistently delivered the story until the climax (Erwin losing his arm, Smiling Titan, Eren's Founder Powers). I honestly can't see why this is the lowest rated season. 8/10.

Yeah season 2 is pretty underrated I thought the same. I think season 3 per 2 is the best for right now and season 2 is second best. Also no one is talking about Annie I thought she was pretty cool and her fights where too. Of course the Reiner and berthold’s betrayal was revealed perfectly and everyone else on here has already said the rest of the good moments lol I just wanted to put my 2 cents in. Season 3 should average about at a 8.7 like you said, but for me it’s def a 9

It should be pretty well known from the betrayal scene and the eren breakdown scene in episode 11 or 12 iirc

Very underrated. It's my third favorite cour behind S4P1 & S3P2, and is the season where I truly became invested and excited about this world. The pacing is great, art & animation are probably the best of the whole series, and the amount of intrigue set up is commendable. Reason why it's the lowest rated I think is because the popularity was at an all time low when it came out thanks to the hiatus, and it has a considerably slower pace than the first season.
Are ya winning, diners?

Only thing this season did right was the intro the beast titan. Everything else regarding them being trapped in the tower and the Reiner and Bertold reveal were just so fucking boring. Like you could’ve pieced together that reveal by then.

Yea agreed, I mean it's sitting pretty high as is - All told there's a good arguement for it being the weakest of the bunch - The scouts are at peak incompetence, the deaths get to feeling a little forced so soon after S1 and it feels more focused on constant twist reveals, rather then actually furthering the characters.

Those were the complaints, but season 2 started to change that. It focused on side characters a lot more, really dug deep into the mystery of the world, making us want answers and compared the other seasons it had a lot less action.

Oh wait it did have the least action besides season 3 part 1, I forgot. I guess because season 1 of aot was very well-received. And season 2 wasn’t a really major improvement from season 1. I’m not sure why season 3 part 1 is rated that much higher, maybe since it focuses a lot more on Levi and really starts the bigger plots of the story. Idk tbh

Maybe it wasn’t that well received because it was more of a set up to the next seasons than a stand alone season

Oh that makes sense it was more of a world-building season. Kinda like how cour 1 of mushoku tensei and the beginning of 86 cour 2 weren’t as well-received since the world-building slowed down the pace. Yeah it is probably because it’s a setup season

I think seson one and tow of attack on titan are good but after that in gets really political and I didn't liked it.

But I know some people that thought that seson three and four are just the best.
So it is really subjective.
