I loved Chainsaw man and have been interested in Fire Punch for quite some time but have heard mixed things. Is it worth getting in to? Should I read it digitally or commit to buying the copies?

yes you should. It might be a bit more controversial than chainsawman especially the 'dog scene.' but its one of my favorite series in all of manga. I say read it digitally because many of the volumes physically arent the easiest to obtain.

Yes! I actually prefer Fire Punch over chainsaw man. It is a lot more outlandish but that is one of its greatest strengths. If you enjoyed chainsaw man at all there is definitely things you will enjoy about Fire punch.

Just as some people said below, if you're coming from their work of chainsaw man then it's worth your pleasure to read fire punch!

Yeah, it is amazing stuff. Thinking about it a little, it is prolly better than CSM.

Just read it. But, it's as someone said, very controversial, not for everyone. Fire Punch is more a dark comedy than a dark fantasy (like Chainsaw Man). Both are violent, but very different at their cores.

Its very very graphic, but honestly it's much better than Chainsaw Man. If you can get through the first 8 chapters, the rest is smooth sailing.

It's made by the author of CSM, so it's the closest thing you'll get to the CSM experience at the moment (CSM part 2 will take that spot when it comes out). Also, I never realized that it was controversial: it's just dark and is unafraid to depict human suffering (all while having that CSM art style and pacing). I'd give it a shot.

Why is it controversial?

Absolutely, I would even say that its better than chainsaw man. Fire Punch feels like a fujimoto that is not chained to shonen jump's rules and etiquette as it is published on the online platform Jump+, so he had more freedom to what he wanted.

definitely! it was a wild ride but very worth to read. the fight scenes are awesome, and the jokes are funny though it can be quite dark at times. the characters are all good especially togata. imo it's better than csm :)

I really like it but it is kinda different from Chainsaw Man. It's more grim and has more shockvalue kind of stuff, the writing is wonkier in parts and the plot is less streamlined than Chainsaw Man's. But it still has lots of memorable moments and panels and it's easy to binge read. Pretty much, it's all over the place but in a fun way. I'd probably recommend trying it digitally first though because it's hit or miss for people.

I wouldn't say it's outright bad but it certainly isn't good, I found it quite disappointing. That being said, if you liked chainsaw man then you might as well give it a shot, though I would recommend not to buy it until you've finished it since the later parts are worse than the beginning.

It's a great series. Very bizarre and you can tell that Fujimoto's really just experimenting and flying by the seat of his pants, but with how goofy the series is, it works.

Has a sick ending too. Read it.

I didn't like it, for me it was bad. Beginning was interesting but at some point it just went downhill and felt like the author himself doesn't know what he is producing.

It's been some years tho so my memory is vague.

Personally I loved it. The concept is brutal and kept me engaged throughout the whole story. Its not too long either. Not quite as good as Chainsaw Man IMO but close. Arts great too.
