Me( who has watched hunter x hunter but not black clover) and my friend (who has watched black clover but not hunter x hunter) were having an argument. My friend was blindly arguing that bc is better than hxh and I told him after checking the mal ratings it would be tough for bc to outperform hxh but I am in no position to judge as I haven't watched bc so which do you guys think is better. (In your opinion)

This question is like asking which is bigger: an ant or the sun. It's just stupid. The answer is obviously hxh. Bc is one of the most generic and boring shows I've ever seen.

Your friend sounds like one of my friends who was arguing that Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Naruto were all equal in quality when the only one he had seen was Naruto. Also, he has watched Fairy Tail three times and claimed that he would rather watch it two more times than start One Piece.

I watched and loved both. It depends on what you prefer, if it’s story line and main character development, it’s HXH. For side character development and fight scenes it’s BC imo

I liked BC more than hxh.. hxh started off too slow for me. I wanted to quit in the first 15-20 episodes soooo many times but I kept watching since everyone was praising it. It gets progressively better and then just stops..

Black clover starts strong and stays that way until the end of Elf Arc.. then it drastically falls imo

Judged on pure entertainment.

Hunter x Hunter is one of the greatest media properties ever created, but I still choose Black Clover. If we keep it anime only, Black Clover's story ended in a more interesting place. The Hunter x Hunter anime's biggest advantage over the manga is that it has a neat ending. If you never read the manga, you would have got a complete story with a slightly disappointing ending. If you added in the stuff after Gon and Ging meet up, Hunter x Hunter is stomping out damn near everything. But without it, all you get is the knowledge that there is a vast world and Gon most of the abilities that made him special.

Black Clover is definitely not as consistent as Hunter x Hunter. But if you take away everything before the elves appear and the mid filler arc about the plight of people without magic, Black Clover is a much more entertaining show with much, much more loveable characters. The writing and escalation only get better with time, and if you don't try to compare average BC eps to Fucking Madhouse firing on all cylinders, I think you will feel the same way. But that can only happen if you watched Black Clover long enough to get to the point where you get drawn in.

BC doesn't have Hisoka vs Chrollo, or even Meruem vs Netero, but it does offer a greater quantity of quality fights. It also is easier to enjoy because it's not as grey and has heroes and sorta villians. And I definitely love Asta more than Gon. Even though Gon is on a whole nother level as far as a quality character. It's not fair to compare any character to one created by Yoshiro Togashi.

That’s funny cuz me and and my friend are the exact same, I watched hxh but he hasn’t but he’s watched black clover and I haven’t and he thinks BL is better and I think hxh is better lmao. He told me he’ll only watch hxh if I watch BL and I kinda don’t want to, maybe I’ll read it tho
