Basicly, after posting the background-story of Hiiragi Kappei, who most certainly won´t appear in the anime, I thought that some people may be interested about the TRUE stories about the characters.
Especially the stories of Kyou, Ryou and Tomoyo were completely leftout.
And more then sure they won´t be able to show the normal AND the True After Story, so even when it´s just after the anime, I recommend reading the stories about everyone, since the anime couldn´t, can´t, and won´t be able to show it all.
~Some notes before that~
1. I´m a german after all, so here and there, there might be bad grammar and mistakes, so don´t flame me because of that xD
2. Those are summaries of the stories from the visual novel. There is no way I could completely write them down, so I shortened it EXTREME. I tried to be as accurate as possible, but I didn´t wrote down everything that was in the anime anyway, if anything is unclear, feel free to ask.
3. You WILL encounter spoilers if you want or not, so decide for yourself if you first want to finish the anime or reading the Novel yourself.
4. I wrote it as far as I remember and looked up one or two things. I may still have made an error here and there, if someone finds one, tell me^^
5. No matter how hard someone, in that case me tried, I can´t tell it as good as the novel since I just wrote a summary. Almost every story is quite emotional, so I tell you here: If you have a chance, GRAP THAT NOVEL!!
6. It was REALLY very much work, so at least a "Thank you" wouldn´t be to much as a reward for my work when you read it, wouldn´t it? ^_^"

- adding a little thing to the true after story. It´s not something important, but I think it would fit well there, but I didn´t really understand the first time I read it. It connected to the end of the illusionary world, so it will come together with the update concerning it.
~School Life Summaries~
Furukawa Nagisa:
No real differences to the anime, exept that the other girls don´t appear that much.
She meets Tomoya on foot of the hill and talks to him afterwards about her absendness because of her illness and that she would like to form a drama club. Tomoya agrees to help her. Later, Sunohara is joining too. They ask the Fujibayashi-sisters for help, and get to know that they need an advisor and that three members must be interested.
They then get to know about Nishina who wants to make a chorus club and wouldn´t be able to do that since Koumura is the last possible teacher for a club. Because of her circumstances (weak grip after an accident so that she wasn´t able to play the violin anymore), Nagisa gives in.
After giving up more or less about the drama club and starting to cry, Tomoya hugs her und asks her to become his girlfriend. (BE SHOCKED, real boyfriend/girlfriend relationship starts here, calling him Tomoya-kun and so on *gg*)
Next day, Sunohara has the idea of playing a basketball-game against the basketball-team of the school to show the chorus-club that handycaps like a weakened arm have nothing to do with "not beeing able to do something", and after some time, Tomoya agrees.
The game itself is getting fun around here, since you are not limited to Kyou as 3rd player.

After winning the match, the chorus club agrees to "share" Koumura (the advising teacher) between them; no interference of the student council like in the anime *gg*
Soon after that, Tomoya moves in at Nagisa´s place because she realizes how much it hurts him to stay at home with his dad that doesn´t seem to see him as his son anymore.
After practicing a bit for a solo-play for the founders festival, Nagisa finds out that her parents had to gave up their dreams because they had to be with her due to her illness.
At the day of the festival when she finally stands on the stage, she can´t bring herself to start since her parents couldn´t live out their dream and she can´t exept that hers will be fulfilled on the back of her parents dreams...
But after a dramatic entrance of Akio who screams that it´s ok since her dream is now the dream of her parents too, she finally managed to start.
Directly after that, she falls ill again for a long time and won´t be able to graduate again. Tomoya don´t want to accept it and wants to repeat classes too, but neither Nagisa nor her parents are approving it. In the end, he continues school and is very sad that he won´t able to climb that hill with her again...
Stupid end? Yeah more or less, but it´s just the "start of the end", since her true ending is in the "After Story".
Note:
Depending how you play through Nagisa´s story, things in the After Story may depend.
Furthermore, a certain event that is important in her After Story will only happen after you finished Fuuko´s story.
Ibuki Fuuko:
Fuuko´s story starts when you aren´t on "best" terms with Nagisa and don´t hug her after the incident with the chorus club (in other words when Tomoya doesn´t become her boyfriend then). Tomoya can meet her serveral times BEFORE her real story though.
He meets her in an empty classroom where she carves "something". After a few "pain-tests" he takes her knife for now. A day later, she grabs him all over (I MEAN it xD) to find it, and after a bit, he returns the knife.
*nothing new till here*
After the chorus-club incident, Tomoya and Nagisa are meeting her in that classroom and Nagisa remembers about her as Ibuki Kouko´s little sister that actually is in a coma after an accident. Since she feels bad for Fuuko, Nagisa takes her home with her. From there on, extreme "Seestar-carving" starts.
They get to know that Fuuko does that to invite the people who get the seastar from her to the wedding of her sister.
Now to the extreme differences to the anime.
None of the other girls are getting a star from Fuuko, and when everyone starts to forget, even Nagisa forgets about Fuuko.
Therefore, Tomoya is on that night before the wedding alone with Fuuko and she "accidently" kisses him.
After the wedding, Fuuko reappears before Tomoya (who doesn´t remember her like in the anime) and asks him (with a seestar in the hands) to go out with her.
Sakagami Tomoyo:
Tomoyo´s story starts of with "dumping" Nagisa from the start. *gg*
After her performance with the bikers, Sunohara thinks she might be a guy and uses his plans to prove it (of course, with painful results).
Still, Tomoyo starts to get interested in Tomoya and comes to wake him later on. Soon after, they get in the classical girl-/boyfriend relationship. Still, since he is a delinquent and she aims for beeing the student council president, they decided to break up if she should win the election.
She quite often came to wake him up and cook for him, and he started to help her to lose her "dangerous girl"-image, like having a match against the other clubs to increase her popularity. Later on, she tells him about her little brother and that she wants to be the student council president to save the cherry blossom trees at the hill in front of the school.
And then it finally happens, while meeting with Tomoya in his empty classroom and the massage of Tomoyo´s election arrives per speaker, instead of breaking up, they have their first kiss.
But soon after that their problems start, since no one approves of Tomoyo and Tomoya beeing together and they start to pressure him that he should break up with her since she may be able to face a bright future if she isn´t with him.
After quite a long time of thinking, he made the painful choice to break up with her so she can fulfill her dreams. After a while, Tomoyo accepts it...
After graduation (several months later), he meets her on a snowy day on that hill and she tells him that she was able to reach her goal, but that it saddens her that she had lost so much time to be with the one she loves... *huge hug*
Some time after that, Tomoya started to work and meets up with Tomoyo and her brother that are going to school and leaves shortly afterwards; and she forgot to give him his bento *gg*
Note:
Not too bad of an end, but gets a BIG addon with "Tomoyo After"
*knowing near to nothing about that, though...*
Fujibayashi Sisters (Ryou and Kyou):
I´m going to divide that part into one for each sister, since both have an ending but Ryou´s isn´t the true one. Still, her ending needs another course of action and has obviously another story because of that. Still, I won´t write the whole thing 2 times, so I will start Kyou´s story where it would have started in Ryou´s story.
Fujibayashi Ryou:
First meeting after Tomoya comes too late to school again. After apologizing to her about a slightly harsh comment, she reads his fortune for tomorrow. This is the first time he notices that her furtune-telling is "a bit off". After reading his furtune the next day again (hot impact with an beautyful girl) he got hit by Kyou with her bike *gg*
Soon after, Kyou starts trying to bring Tomoya together with her sister, like make them meet in the courtyard for a lunch. Sometime after that, Ryou gathers her courage and asks Tomoya if he will be her boyfriend.
They have one date WITH Kyou for assistance and soon after that, one without Kyou. On the first one, he gets to know the favorite colors of Ryou and Kyou, and on a shopping tour where he intents to buy a pendant for Ryou, he meets Kyou by coincidence that hands him a tarot-card-set for her sister that he should give her as a present. On the second date, Tomoya and Ryou have their first kiss.
They become happy together and are thankful to Kyou for bringing them toghether.

Sry about shorten it like that, of course there a few more events, but that are all that are important to mention and that I remember *gg*
Fujibayashi Kyou:
Her startoff is 1:1 like Ryou till the first date. But after that, after doing things like saying that Tomoya prefers long hair over short, buying the wrong pendant, and accepting Kyou´s invitation for a "kiss-training" (of course they didn´t really kiss), the events making a turn after his second date with Ryou.
Rumors spread that Tomoya two-timed Ryou with her sister, since one of their classmates saw him from afar with Kyou when they were doing the "fake kiss training". Surprisingly, Ryou says nothing about those rumors. When Sunohara asks him what he really feels for Ryou anyway, Tomoya can´t answer.
Later, he becomes spectator by coincidence how Kyou asks Sunohara to become her boyfriend. Surprisingly, Sunohara refuses, since he knows that Kyou fell in love with Tomoya since a long time ago. Kyou noticed that he is watching everything and runs away. Sunohara tells him then a theory; that Kyou wanted Sunohara as boyfriend so she can still be near Tomoya. Tomoya himself is confronted with his feelings once again....
He more and more understands himself that he never really was in love with Ryou, but she starts to get bolder from day to day. One day, she is fortune-telling about Tomoya and herself with the tarot-cards she got from him, with a mysterious prediction.
On a rainy day, Tomoya notices that Botan is running around at the courtyard and goes out; and finds Kyou standing in the rain, confronted with her own feelings. She allready was in love with Tomoya when her sister told her that she likes him, too. Since Kyou didn´t want to be in the way of her sister, she tried to help her, even though she knew she betrayed herself. Tomoya finally hugs her in the rain, concluding for himself which girl he really loves. Still, Kyou says that she won´t forgive him if he would hurt her sister.
But of course, another problem started there, since he had to break up with Ryou who still loves him. When he finally gathers the courage to tell her, she stops him in the middle of his sentence and runs away with the words that she won´t lose to her sister. He starts to realize that Ryou started to get a bit bolder to be more like her older sister since she realized that Tomoya started to distance himself.
He starts to review the last fortune-telling that Ryou made and realized how every bit of it was true this time.
At the sunset of the next day, Tomoya finally faces Ryou at the school gate and tells her his true feelings. He falls in a little shock when she jumps at him and kisses him.... until he notices that it´s KYOU who cutted her hair short, to trick him into confessing.
A bit later, he finally has his words with Ryou who don´t want him to apologize, since she really had fun with him.
Soon after, he goes to school with Kyou (hairs still short, but it looks cute imo...). He tells her that she should grow her hair again while she´s clinging on his arm^^
Note:
I couldn´t really bring out the emotions I had since the scene where Kyou´s true feelings came out, since it was REALLY sad how Tomoya got into conflict of not wanting to hurt Ryou but still had to do it to be with Kyou; and the sudden happy end after the drama^^
Kyou tells Tomoya that Ryou found a new boyfriend at the hospital where she is a nurse. That´s a theory on my own, but I think it would be a nice matchup if it´s Kappei.
Ichinose Kotomi:
No matter how much I search, there are near to no differences to the anime here, exept one key-scene. (and that the story is much better of course)
After another Nagisa-dumping, Tomoya meets Kotomi when he searched a place to sleep in the library when she´s about to cut up a book. They get in a quite funny friendship, and it starts to get even funnier when he finally tries to make her more "social".
She befriends Nagisa, Kyou and Ryou; no meeting with Tomoyo here. Her violin ricital doesn´t find so much victims like in the anime. They meet a mysterious man on the way home that Kotomi only calls the "bad guy". Tomoya later learns a bit about the work of Kotomi´s parents and that the man isn´t a "bad guy" after all.
When Tomoya wants to go on a date with Kotomi, from out of nowhere Kyou, Ryou and Nagisa are appearing (Kyou earshoved "a bit".) After the still quite fun date, Tomoya and Kotomi decided to meet again the next day, this time alone, and have a little date in the school library.
Soon after, Nagisa thought that Ryou got into a bus accident, but luckily, nothing happened to her. Even though, Kotomi seems to remember something and falls to the knees while crying and screaming. When Tomoya visits her at home shortly after, he finally remembers that they allready met when he was small and that Kotomi´s parents died. After that meeting, she didn´t go to school next day.
After slowly remembering everything (and Kotomi completely locked the house), Tomoya decides to restore her garden to what it was once before. The girls decided to present Kotomi the violin she likes so much to her birthday, but since it broke, it will take a while longer. When even his last memories of that time returned and he finished the garden, Kotomi finally comes out of the house.
*time for the mayor difference now*
Tomoya tells her that everyone is waiting for her, but she refuses to come with him. She don´t want to make friends anymore since she is afraid of losing someone dear to her again. Tomoya hugs her and promises her to never leave her side anymore; and finally kisses her.
The next day (her birthday) Kotomi returns to school, meeting with all her friends again. Her teacher tells her that her foster parent (the "bad guy" lol) wants to talk with her, and she agrees to meet him when her friends can be with her. He then presents her the suitcase of her father, with the big teddy in it she asked him for her birthday, right before he and her mother died.
Later, she makes a gardenparty with all her friends; the teddy on the one chair and the violin on the other chair in the garden.
Note:
In the end, it almost sounds like the anime-version, but there are ALOT more very fun scenes before the bus incident, and the part where Kotomi as child realizes that she is all alone now and waited for Tomoya to come were shown much more sad and dramatic. You got the point, like every other story too, it was WAY BETTER IN THE NOVEL.
Sagare Misae:
The dorm-mother of the dorm where Sunohara is staying has a quite a interesting story too.
Of course, her story starts when you meet her at the dorm quite a few times. You get to know that she is somewhat of a councelor for the people of the dorm and even girls from the school. Most of the time if someone comes because of a problem, Tomoya hides in Misae´s room.
Since she refuse to talk much about her past and her lost boyfriend, Tomoya sends her a few girls that „want to know what love is“ in hope that she starts talking. Of course, she sees trough that plan.
On a certain point he is seeing a dream of Misae´s past, when she was still at school. A little boy, called Shima Katsura starts waiting for her at school to grant her a wish, since she helped him when he was sick at hospital. He was only annoying in the beginning for her, but she starts to like him.
But still, after some time he finally realized that he is not who he thought, that the true Shima died and entrusted him with his final wish. Yet, he became a person and started to know a warmth he never knew before...
And then, on the school festival, Misae finally makes her wish: „Please, forever always... like me.“
After promising her to always be at her side, he disappears. Instead of him, from the next day on, a cat appeared in front of Misae and stayed with her until today.
When he wakes up, Tomoya noticed that he and Misae fall asleep at her room.
And then, he realized that the cat was showing him the dream. A dream about a boy that made a promise to never leave her side and a girl that waited ever since than for her „Shima-kun“ to return.
Real Ending:
When you play Tomoyo´s story after finishing the story of Misae, she is searching for her cat at the school festival (founders day). When she founds it, it refuses to come with her. Tomoya seems to understand the feelings of the cat and repeats it: „You made a promise on founders day, didn´t you?“ After a small silence, she smiles with tears in her eyes and says that she´s going to have a bit fun with the cat then.
Sunohara Silblings:
You´ll see this story if you avoid everyone of the girls but are always with Sunohara.
After picking up the phone because Sunoharas sister Mei was calling, Tomoya accidently agreed that she can come over that weekend.
Sunohara isn´t quite happy about that, since she wants to check if he finally recovered after beeing kicked out of the soccer-team.
To make sure she won´t be worried, they try to find him a girlfriend for a few days. After a bad beating up by Kyou, they meet Nagisa´s mother Sanae (they don´t know who she is by now, though). Since she looks that young, Sunohara instantly falls for her and asks her out; for what reason ever (can´t remember), she agrees.
Since he is with Sanae from there on, Tomoya is the one to greet Mei at first; who´s absolutely shocked that there is a girl on this world that likes her brother. Since Mei can´t sleep at the boys-dorm, she decides to live with Tomoya for now.
One day when Mei and Tomoya are following Sunohara and Sanae, they come across a little girl who gets bullied by a few other children. To her great disappointment, her big brother doesn´t care about it and wants to walk away; still, Sanae is stopping the children.
Since her brother seemed totally changed from the brother she loved, Mei is faking that she has a boyfriend in this town, and after a misunderstanding, Sunohara thinks it is Tomoya. Tomoya plays along with it because he clearly understands how much Sunohara is hurting her.
After a little date between Tomoya and Mei, she tries to get the soccer-club to let her brother join again. To make them approve she does everything they want from her, like fetching the ball when it flies away, but after some time, they start to aim for her purposely. Tomoya can only watch for now since he knows that everything she does will be in vain when he starts to pick up a fight.
After Mei is almost beaten up and the soccer-club still makes fun of her, Tomoya finally wants to fight; then Youhei jumps in first. Together they fight against the soccer-club members but of course they don´t stand a chance against the whole team.
After that, Tomoya is starting to punch Youhei for not helping Mei any sooner and completely ignoring her feelings, but Sunohara answers that he thought it´s ok since Tomoya is with her.
When they both saw their patched up faces next day in the school.... they started laughing at each other as nothing happened.
Mei went home and Tomoya just understands again what a good friend he has after all.
Note:
Kyou isn´t the only girl you can ask to be his girlfriend, but you´ll always end up with Sanae in the end; and Sunohara finds out that Sanae is allready married xD
Hiiragi Kappei:
First encounter with him is when Tomoya manages to avoid the second „impact“ of Kyou´s bike.
Tomoya meets him when Kappei is searching for a job, Sunohara was thinking that he is a girl and never completely managed to shake of that image *gg*
Later, Kappei and Ryou became lovers, but after a while, Tomoya and co. find out from a magazine that Kappei was a famous runner, but had to quit because he has cancer in his leg and his life is in danger...
Ryou and Tomoya want him to stay alive, but he refused since the only way would be to abadon his leg and he cannot imagine to stay alive without being able to run anymore and he do not want to become a burden.
Later, Ryou got inspired by Yoshino Yuusuke how she may be able to convince him and told Kappei that she is pregnant from him (of course that was a lie and he knows that too *gg*), but tells him then that she really wants to get married with him and become children.
When he finally notices how much she loves him and Tomoya cares for him, he finally agreed, and Ryou even found out about an operation he could use WITHOUT losing his leg.
5 years later, Tomoya meets Ryou who has become a nurse and is now married with Kappei. He then meets with him, and Kappei is overjoyed to see his best friend who wanted him to stay alive no matter what again after so much time.
Miyazawa Yukine:
Tomoya meets her the first time when he´s searching Sunohara for the teacher but decides to go to sleep anyway.
He meets her in the „old library“ that she is in charge off. After ordering a coffee just for fun, she actually made him one. After some talk, he goes meeting her everyday, and even Sunohara joins in.
One day, a „dangerous looking“ person enters through the window, but Yukine treats him no different from Tomoya and Sunohara. In fact, that happens quite often after that.
Later, Tomoya hears that they are from another school and visiting Yukine every now and then, since she is the sister of a friend, and that Tomoya looks quite similar.
Yukine and Tomoya are getting quite close, and she finally invites him to the anniversary of her brothers death. There, he meets the „dangerous looking“people that entered always through the window and get to know that they became friends with Yukine after her brother, that was like a brother to them too, died.
After her speech, Tomoya kisses her, what was not really approved by the rest ^^
Toshio Komura (Sensei):
Well... that will be short to be honest.
You enter his story when you lose the basketball game in Nagisa´s story.
After visiting Nagisa that got sick again, Tomoya meets Kouko (Fuuko´s sister) who tells him that Komura has his last year at the school before he retires, and if he and Sunohara would mind to be his pupils for a while again.
That´s somewhat all. They graduate and thanking Komura for everything he did for them....
~After Story Summary~
Normal After Story:
The story starts almost where Nagisa´s story ended. Tomoya still lives in the Furukawa-household without an idea what he should do now that he has graduated.
After meeting Yuusuke some time later, Tomoya decides to start working at the same company as him to earn some money. What´s more, he wants to rent an appartment and moves there; together with Nagisa. She approves almost instantly and Sanae is fine with that too, and after a while, Akio gives in, too.
Nagisa´s time at school isn´t going well again, but she is hanging in, and Tomoya becomes accostumed to the work he´s doing together with Yuusuke after some trouble at the start.
Some time later, an old student of Sanae who is teacher now wants to take the children she is teaching to another school. Sanae seems fine with that, but Tomoya, Nagisa and Akio are knowing that this is actually not the case. Tomoya and Nagisa are trying to talk with the children about that, but they don´t want to burden Sanae anymore since she looked very tired the last few days. On the day that should be the last time teaching at the Furukawa bakery, encouraged by everyone, Sanae says that she wants to continue teaching the children. After seeing how happy she and the kids are, nobody objects anymore.
One day, Yuusuke talks with Tomoya about his past how he became a star. He was alone and a troublemaker, but got to like playing music. When he played the guitar at school, the teacher of that time (Ibuki Kouko, anyone surprised here?^^) complimented him and were going out with him.
He became quite famous later, but got to understand that the music he just made for himself actually saved people in similiar or worse situations then he were. Started to feel burdened with that, he tried to change his music so it would be really for others, but he failed. He became depressed and used drugs so he could continue, but he ended up in hospital.
After beeing ashamed at himself, he returned in his hometown, since he thought there isn´t any other place left for him now because everyone knows anyway about what happened. There, he met Kouko who asked with a smile if he is still making music. Yuusuke finally realized that no matter what happend, his hometown wouldn´t abadon him like that and thought that it would have been alright to stay with the girl he liked. They were together since that day till now. When Tomoya tells Nagisa about that and let her listen to Yuusuke´s music, she and Kouko are making a plan that Yuusuke should release one more CD. After a while, he agrees and gives the new album the title he had in mind when he talked with Tomoya about it: "Love & Spanner".
Things between Tomoya and Nagisa are going well, and Tomoya even gets a chance for an promotion at the company. When it seems that nothing could be better anymore, he is getting a phone call that his father got imprisoned.....
Rumors about that spread fast, and Tomoya´s boss has no other way than to cancel the promotion for now. When he and Nagisa are visiting his dad, he yell´s at him why he still have to screw up his life even when it finally goes well, even though they don´t even consider each other as family anymore.
After getting comforted by Nagisa, Tomoya finally makes her an proposal. Of course she agreed, Sanae has nothing to say against it too, and again, after some work, even Akio agrees. They get engaged soon after.
Time passed and Nagisa falls ill again for two months, not beeing able to go to the graduation ceremony, even though she managed to pass this time.
Bringing her along to the school in her school-uniform while Tomoya wears his own too, he´s surprising her with a graduation ceremony together with all their friends; Sunohara, Tomoyo, the girls from the chorus club, Kyou and Ryou, Mei and even Komura-sensei. Even her parents, Kouko and Misae came. After a touching speech of Nagisa, everyone applaudes, and Tomoya finally goes down the hill of the school together with Nagisa a last time.
Soon after that, Tomoya and Nagisa are visiting his father in the prison, who congratulates them, and asking Nagisa to take care of Tomoya. After she agrees, she and Tomoya are leaving while he is staring at the rings that he and she are wearing; they are finally married.
**side note, it´s one year now since start of the after story**
After that, Nagisa started working in a family restaurant.
With time, Tomoya started to get a bit worried since it seems that everything including Nagisa is changing, but after wishing to himself that things should stay forever this way, he managed to get up. Then the next day, a surprise is waiting for him: Nagisa is pregnant!
When Nagisa suggested a birth at home, Tomoya and her parents agreed, and later, the couple decided to name the child "Ushio" (While Nagisa means "beach", Ushio means "tide". While seperated sometimes, they always return to each other and the beach will always watching over the tide). Some time after, Nagisa is getting a long fever again....
Later on, Akio tells Tomoya what really happened in the past between him, Sanae and Nagisa. While Sanae and Akio were always away till late at night, Nagisa waited at the front of the house for them. One time, she got a fever, but her parents didn´t think to much about that. Still, even with her fever, she went out to wait for them. When Akio finally came home, he found Nagisa collabsed on the ground, covered with snow. After she recovered from her life threatening state, Akio and Sanae vowed that they won´t leave her alone ever again.
Sanae tells Tomoya that Nagisa´s doctor thinks that she and the child may not survive the birth in her current state and it may better to abort the child. Tomoya, frightened by the thought of losing Nagisa, tries to talk with her about that, but she refuses, and even he himself starts to doubt he want to lose the child; still, he don´t want to lose Nagisa as well...
After talking with Sanae and Akio, they decided to respect Nagisa´s wish and help her as much as possible, since Nagisa´s happyness is the dream of them all. Even the doctor says, as long as the fever won´t get worse, it may be okay. Still, her fever rises higher again....
She manages to give birth to her little daughter Ushio, but sadly there wasn´t anyway to help Nagisa, who dies peacefully with a smile on her face....
***five years later...***
Tomoya left Ushio in the care of Sanae and Akio while he devoted himself at work again, he almost never meets up with Ushio at all exept the weekend. One day, Sanae has the idea of a family trip. Tomoya isn´t really interested, but accepts in the end.
When he is going to meet up with them, he notices that only Ushio is in that house and Sanae and Akio left, so that Tomoya can finally spend time with her as her father. Thinking they may return if he won´t go anywhere with her, he stays in the Furukawa-house with the quite sad Ushio since it seems Sanae isn´t going on a trip with her.
After having a bit trouble with her at first and understanding that Sanae and Akio won´t return after all, Ushio agrees to go on a trip with Tomoya alone.
They don´t talk much when they drive with the train, and since she is bored, Tomoya buys her a toy-robot at a station. When Ushio askes him about her mother, Tomoya tells her to ask Sanae about that since he doesn´t want to talk about it.
After some trouble on the trip, they finally arrive at the cape that Sanae recommended, and they stop at a beautyful flowerfield. After playing for quite awhile, Ushio notices that she lost her robot in the field. Tomoya looks for it but can´t find it, but Ushio refuses to leave without it. Tomoya says he will go to the beach for a while and she can look for it till he returns.
On the beach, he has a meeting with his grandmother, the mother of his father; arranged by Sanae. She tells him about how his father was in the past, how he met a girl he liked, went to work very soon, rented a small appartment for the two of them, and how finally Tomoya was born. When his mother died in an accident, his father devoted himself to work so that Tomoya can lead a happy life. After hearing this story that resembled his own quite well, he goes to get Ushio, who wasn´t able to find the robot after all, saying that she can´t leave it behind since it´s the first present she got from her father. This is when Tomoya finally understands that, even though he lost Nagisa, he still has Ushio.
When they are on the train back home, Tomoya finally tells Ushio about her mother. How she started without confidence at the bottom of the hill, how she and Tomoya got to know each other better, about the drama club, the basketball game, the founders festival, how they started living together, her graduation, and about how strong she finally was when she gave birth to Ushio; and how proud Ushio can be to be the daughter of such a stong woman. Tomoya recalls himself how happy he was with Nagisa, how the two of them went through happy and unhappy times, and how they managed to overcome every crisis together.
After returning to the Furukawa-house, Tomoya says that he want to take Ushio with him to his appartment; of course, Sanae agrees.
The next day, Tomoya is visiting his father who he hasn´t seen since Ushio´s birth. Telling him he met his grandmother, and heard the whole story of his fathers youth, he should finally go back to her, since he accomplished his goal to raise up his son to a good man already. Getting an understanding of each other, the next day his father leaves, and finally Tomoya understands how much his father loves him and how he never really repaid him. Wishing him a happy time with his mother, Tomoya sends him off, calling him "father" again, and his father finally called him Tomoya instead of "Tomoya-kun" again.
Tomoya starts bringing Ushio to the kindergarden like a normal father and gets to know that a boar is the pet there... and meets Kyou who is now a teacher at kindergarden, and in charge of the group of Ushio. She says that he can come to her anytime if he needs help.
One day when Tomoya and Ushio are going to visit the Furukawa´s, he meets Kouko and Yuusuke together with Sanae in the park. Furthermore, he meets Fuuko who finally awoke from her coma (after 7 or 8 years). When he and Sanae are hearing that Yuusuke and Kouko are going to wed soon, they congratulate them for the wedding and Fuuko´s awakening. When the wedding finally takes place, Tomoya and Ushio are there, too.
Soon after, Ushio falls sick with a fever, and the doctor says it seems to be the same as with Nagisa who had that fevers her whole life...
Dispairing that something like that is happening again, he decides to quit his job so he can be with his daughter. When he says goodbye to Yuusuke, he says that Tomoya is welcome again anytime as soon as Ushio is better.
Winter comes, and she still isn´t better, only wanting to go with a trip with her father again. One time, he decides to really go with her, but soon after they start walking, Ushio collabses, only asking of their are allready on the train, and telling her father that she loves him...
Notes:
- This is how the After Story will end if someones light is missing. A final scene of the ilusionary world with the junk doll and the girl hints that the lights of happyness must be collected, so that such a tragedy won´t happen again....
- You´ll HAVE to go through this part of the after story since most of the missing „lights“ for the true ending can only be obtained here.
- which people actually come to her graduation depends on how you went through Nagisa´s Story. For example, when she never met Tomoyo and the Fujibayashi sisters, of course they won´t appear. Since Fuuko and Kotomi don´t play any role in her story, they won´t appear at all.
Furukawa Akio Side Story:
His story starts sometime after Tomoya got accustomed to the work with Yoshino.
Akio is invited by a few friends from a theatrical company to come with them for a theater play for a few days. After some persuation of Nagisa and Sanae, he aggrees and leaves the bakery in the hands of his family and Tomoya for now.
While Akio was away, Tomoya plays with the kids that are normally in Akio´s care, and gets to learn how Akio would help anyone in trouble to make them smile, and that Tomoya is quite similar to him.
The next day, in the TV-news is a report about a bus hijacking, and it starts to get clear that Akio is in it. At every bus stop, a few people are getting out, until only the culpit, the driver and Akio are left. It also get known that Akio is wounded since he got stabbed with a knife a few times.
On the last stop, the driver is let out of the bus, and Akio screams that he got friends with the culpit and that he just want to see his grandmother again. He then drives the bus together with the culpit, but crashes in his wounded state with already decreasing speed into a highway-island in the end.
Later on, Tomoya, Nagisa and Sanae are going to the hospital, waiting for Akio to awake, who´s still in a critical condition.
When Tomoya returns the next day after getting a change of clothes, Nagisa is running around, telling Tomoya that her father disappeared all of a sudden. He finds him quite fast on a bench, smoking. Akio tells him that the culpit itself pulled the break in the bus, saying that it´s enough now.
Finally, Sanae arrives while crying, saying that Akio shouldn´t doing thinks like that since he might disappear from her. Akio primises her then that he will never leave her side, no matter what happens.
Note:
I didn´t listed it in the after story itself since when it´s finished, it´s just an end; no other events will happen after that and you´ll see the ending, just like in the School Life storys.
TRUE End of the After Story: (read "Normal After Story" first!)
It´s basicly the same until the day of Ushio´s birth. But this time, Nagisa is able to survive the birth, thanking Tomoya that he never left her side. She lives happy with Tomoya and Ushio from here on.
Notes:
- After getting all the lights throughout the story, the REAL After Story starts. Still, to get here, you HAVE to finish the first one.- if you are to lazy to count them, you´ll know that you have enough light when the music at the title-screen changes.
- After seeing the true end, on the title screen where the lights were before, a girl lies under the tree. It´s the girl that was seen in the illusionary world. You never really saw her in the Novel though, just in the end of the Illusionary world, it´s hinted that she is Nagisa. Of course, the girl is the same we actually saw in the anime.
I'm saving this for when I finish the anime, since the Wikipedia has spoiled me enough. In any case, thank you BlackBahamut, because that's going to help a lot. ^^
Thank you for this, I was almost going to kill Visualart's key since I didn't play all the game paths yet, I though the TOEI movie was with the real after story ending, now I know it isn't true.
Despite have been spoiled all over, I'm definitely going to play the game when is fully translated
After reading through the summary in it's entirety I have to say you did a very, very good and thorough job. Can't wait until your finish the last bits. =D
Some feedback on the spelling and grammar:
- Very few spelling mistakes that I could see, the only main ones that I noticed were "beeing" instead of "being" and "culpit" instead of "culprit",
- quotes are being displayed as „“ instead of "", and finally
- there just a couple of sentences that don't make sense, for example "Akio tells him that the culpit itself pulled the break in the bus, saying that it´s enough now".
On your notes, I feel that the little girl is actually Ushio since in the Illusionary world the girl actually said (or I don't know if it was the (tomoya) junk doll xD the illusionary world of the visual novel is just that confusing) that the girl was going to be born at that other world, but wouldn't remember anything, and then they hear Nagisa's dango song
and also there's the scene where Fuuko said about "that scent" (when she met Ushio -even though it was during the bad end route- she said she wouldn't forget Ushio's scent) and then she meets with the girl (as seen in the CLANNAD opening too)

We are still not sure if the afterstory is not going to be animated since it is the best part of CLANNAD =O and with Kyoani being so detailed about Key stuff I have this feeling that we are going to get a second season as so much people has pointed out *I'm telling this so that we shouldn't tell people to read the summary right after the anime has ended because we are not really sure about what is Kyoani going to do afterwards :X*

In the game i already did Tomoyo, Kyou, Misae, Kappei and Yukine good end routes. And Ryou bad end route. (While trying to get Kyou. xD)
Next i will be doing Kotomi, Koumura, Sunohara(?), Mai, Fuko.

Nagisa's route dosn't really interests me... But i will probably do to have fun seeing her parents. lol

To be honest, I´m sure about that.
I´d like to see a happy end in the anime, but the trailer looked more like the complete normal after story... (Nagisa´s graduation ceremony with her friends, Ushio in the Furukawa household holding distance from Tomoya, Tomoya holding Ushio in the end...)
Exept they make a time jump or something like that it´s hard to imagine, but seeing the Fuuko/Misae story where something impossible happend, maybe there is a chance that Key/KyoAni will come up with a solution, I´d really like them to... ^^

Has been a LONG time since the last time I posted here *lol*
I recently started to read the whole novel again since I started to read the full-voice version, so the VERY LONG ignored updates might come after all.
I think about leaving out the girl and the junk-bot though, since it´s more confusing than helping, but I guess I let you guys vote for it ;P
While I´m on it, I´ll try to write a few aditional things down, since I felt myself that a few parts aren´t that well done now that I read them again.
Well, just keep watch, I MAY suddenly a change of heart since I almost fell asleep in Nagisa´s story, but since I´m looking forward to Kotomi and Kyou again... wait and see XD
I'm actually playing the game. My progress so far is: Sanae - Tomoyo - Ryou - Kyou - Kappei. The Kappei route is the worst part of the game. I wish that the Key staff give us a true end for the Ryou route instead of making this boring route. Skipped 1/3 of the Kappei route just for the sake of getting the orb.
Bump. Well, I've just finished the entire VN in Japanese on my PS2. My Japanese is not that great, but I think I got the gist of all the stories. Truly a great game. Miyazawa's route was better in the anime than in the game. I'm not sure why they took out Kappei's, Akio's, and Sanae's story (probably not enough episodes and/or time), but they weren't that necessarily. Overall, I would say that Clannad's anime is surprisingly faithful to its original game.

Can someone help me, I was playing Kyou's route today (After I finished Ryou's route) and near the end, when Tomoya goes back to the class after he was in the rain with Kyou, Ryou leaves the class and it triggers something different than normal
It says stuff like "I walk pass Ryou without a glance like we're strangers" and "Even Kyou is distant from me now"
How come I got this ending?
