Depends, in some arcs (the mansion and the santury so far in the anime which is over 30 EPs of the total run plus an long length Ova speical) she'd be considered primary cast, that is if by 'Side' the op meant characters of minor note within the supporting cast, thougth your rigth to say one could argue the lines so to fit Beatrice and/or Ram into the side catagory but at that point it's all getting a bit extravagant 😅. In fact I'd almost suggest atleast during the sanctuary arc Otto and Roswal would be qualified as more then a side cast member and to a lesser extend even Julio during the Whale expedition arc/mansion rescue(unless we're saying anyone who isn't a protagonist is side cast). Overall Re;Zero's actually a pretty arkward show/story for neatly catagorising characters into groups as it's a fairly sizable ensemble cast of varying degrees of details and depending on the arc many characters move and develop to be more or less relevent (I mean best example of this is S1 Rem to S2 Rem. You could make an arguement she's more the heroine of S1 then even Emilia [who in S1 is more at times almost a goal or idea rather then the female lead,] but she's most certainly religated to the side cast in S2....)😅👍. That's not a complaint on my end, it's inductive of the quality writing that these characters are in-depth and nauced enough to easily carry whole episodes or arcs while also being usefull in support roles at other times😁☺️ |

| While Otto is my favourite side character along with Ram in the Emilia Camp, I respect Wilhelm the most. Even Roswaal and Subaru highly respect him. The guy even has an in-universe ballad dedicated to his and his wife's love story. |
