Umm.. good- premise of the show is really interesting. The uniqueness of the main characters circumstance and his self aware nature in the beginning it kinda makes you feel like this is who I would be in his situation. The world seems to be quite interesting with the politics at play how ever it's not at all the main focus in the season it's kinda something that happens once.

bad(Not really bad just things that I didn't like)- I the main character gets more and more unlikeable as the anime progresses and the things that made the anime interesting at from the first few episodes I kinda wish is was handled a little differently, not better cause it's not bad but I just didn't like the way it was handled. There were other things like one dimensional support characterbut my main problem is I really did not like the main character and there was no other active support character to make up for him being so unappealing.

For me it's the the other way around...sure there will be times he will be unlikable but thats kind of the point...he is a person with flaws that goes trough a lot of growth wich imo in terms of writing makes him a very good character...

The main character's personality is made just too realistic, so people that see something in him that they can relate with but not essentially something they're proud of, these will say that the main character subaru is the worst mc ever.

Don't listen to those people, subaru is one of the most relatable anime protagonists in all of anime history and
Re:zero has a big cast of characters which are just extremely powerful and unique, it's a fantasy ofc.
Subaru as a normal person stuck in a fantasy goes through multiple character development arcs and will become the most consistently development mc at the end of the series.

And about the romance, there's not really much importance placed on the romance aspect of the show
Except for two episodes that might leave you cringed, but that aside romance isn't really a major part as of rn.

The main character... It is a good question, I see a lot of people talking about him like, "horrible", " worst character", "cringe", etc.
In my opinion with some information... He is too realistic, very related with " Hikikomori mental disorder people".
We don't know how they are with their few friends, we dont know how different we are.
The main character was a Hikikomori, It is realistic to think that, at the beginning of the story, he s*cks as a protagonist of an isekai.
It is realistic because some of those people have Chuunibyou too, so.... Tell me you opinion about this.

Before I start, I have to say that Re:Zero is by far my favourite show.
The entire show revolves around Subaru and his view of the world so if you don't like him, you probably won't like the show at all. For me, one of my favourite parts of the show is the way Subaru falls into dispair and madness then something manages to bring him back but he's clearly not the same as he was, for better or for worse. I also greatly enjoy the entire cast of characters.

As for the worst part of the show, it is probably the romance. Its a weird triangle of unrequited puppy love. While at times its cheesy beyond compare, I never found it to be annoying. Other than that, the worst part is probably Subaru himself. Just because like I mentioned earlier, if you don't like him you probably won't like the show.

But yeah. 100% recommened. Greatest show in history. 11/10

This isn't that but it's still very good, hating Subaru (protag) is understandable but dont stop watching just because you dont like him. Him becoming a better person and character are very important parts of the show. Watching it is your choice though, it's not for everyone.

The first season was pretty good with its unique premise and more complex MC rather than the one dimensional protagonists we usually get in most isekai. The second season was pretty boring with the endless talking and it made you feel disconnected from the world. Im not sure what the "romance problem" is

Really fucking good. Colorful and diverse cast of characters with each their own unique personalities, the MC might become unlikable for you but his development is more than worth it, and the rest of the cast also receive a lot of development, legit one of the best modern anime that's ongoing.

It's hard to love MC at first. However, for me Subaru is one of the most realistic written MC. His character development is very impressive and interesting along with supporting characters. With his realism, he is able to cause a great emotional impact and a human life meaningful sense to a viewer.

Generally Re:Zero under the guise of isekai wants to show some deeper values, such as understanding own weaknesses and flaws, sticking to your life values, self-discovery, dealing with loneliness or how difficult the process of becoming a better person is. Of course, the other characters have also their own unique interesting development.

The genres in anime description fit very well. IT IS a psychological drama in a fantasy world with the addition of romance and thriller.

It's decent watch, just not great by any means. I honestly didn't understand the hype. Maybe it's about season 2 but I only watched the first and it was just..nothing special.

Some episodes were fun, but several others were just boring. A lot of cringy characters in this, and the main protagonist is very unlikable even after his supposed development in episode 18. People saying he's realistic? No he's f**king not. There's no person in real life who talks and acts this way. That main villain in the last few episodes with screaming was just cringe reincarnated I couldn't withstand listening to him.

The fights were cool though. I liked the forest fight and the white whale one was interesting.

I enjoy it lots. The main negative (mainly for season 2) would be the super heavy dialogue which definitely is not bad by any means and understandable but just sometimes it does get a bit too much for me. As for the positives, pretty much everything else. It's a good series.

I always thought subaru was a good character, but there’s certain periods in this series where I absolutely hated him. He’s well written in the fact that he’s realistic but it can be really hard to watch at points and I almost dropped it.

Really fun to watch with an interesting premise, but ultimately held down by not that great writing overall (to people who watched: my favorite arc is the second with the manor and I think it didn't get better than that). Still cool.

As for the MC being realistic - that may be true, but he's insufferable nonetheless. Him acting like dick cause of certain things put aside, I think he's kinda dumb, not that likable (say if you met him irl) and has a God complex on top. Not denying the horror he's put in, not saying he's badly written - personally I just didn't really like him, but the preferences will vary.

I have a strong distaste for this show, I personally find so many problems with this show, the disinteresting mc, and just annoyingly sub-par execution of all the things in the show. But mostly if you can get past the boring self-insert mc or even like him you will definitely find this show to be good

mc sucks, but this anime is better than most animes like that. About romance there is not that much romance scenes. most of the season 1 is blood and screams Xd.you should watch i say.

Its one of the better isekai with a twist called return by death. When he dies, the mc can redo everything since his last sleep. Characters are average and the plot is non existend, which is not bad in this case bc its all about surviving the next day.
I would definitely recommend it if you like isekai :)

it's am amazing anime also nice romance and u will be thrilled after watching it, plz endure it till ep 18 because after ep 18 u will be so so shocked that it will really make u feel this anime deserves the rating it has

The show is a different take on the isekai genre with the only way to make things go right is trial and error and overall I enjoyed it but S2 it was all based in that forest and it just felt a bit too repetitive to the point I got tired of watching because it felt like Subaru forest die repeat almost the entire second season, and that could be just me

Bad- the characters aren't characters, the story doesn't actually go anywhere, the pacing is rocky at best, and it doesn't even commit to the premise or any plot points

It's an amazing deconstruction of the isekai genre, the mc is amazingly realistic yet complex character. I like how his reaction to everything around him is almost the same as anyone in his situation, I can't believe how well written he is
Tho I have to warn you that it is not a power fantasy with a way too overpowered mc at all, if you are going expecting that then u will just end up hating it

The romance is kinda important as it's the mc's driving force but that part is nothing too amazing
Overall it's a great anime, great mc and great deconstruction of it's on genre 10/10

See the point of this anime is to make you think from the perspective of an adolescent teenager who has forced himself to be an introvert while he is an extrovert deep down because he couldn't meet the expectations of the man he envision himself to be he knows what he has to be but just doesn't know how to..... you'll find out more in S2 about his personality and it's more than that you'll find during his cringe moment's that he is just trying desperately to fit into the shoes to become someone he's not at the beginning of season 1 cause it's a fresh start for him as he feels he can be someone new other than himself cause he hated himself in his previous world...so you'll discover his journey of self acceptance....and at first he treats the main heroine in the series like a tool an NPC of a game like someone he has to protect just to satisfy his desires to be a hero ....but then you'll see him discovering the realization of his own faults and then coming in terms to it slowly and steadily I'd say natsuki Subaru is a well written character....who maybe be relatable to a lot of teenagers like myself ...but some people might hate him but that's the point...the creates wants to make him to be a character with faults he wants to portray that no matter what hardship no matter how desperate and down you feel....you can always get up...and strive for a better future he is one of my fav characters and if you're expecting to get an op character who is already perfect and does the all the perfect things then don't watch it ... you could say it's a story about redemption and this is just my view or interpretation of the story not meant to offend anyone

It's awful, literally my least favorite anime. The characters are soulless and don't have development in the first season (didn't watch more), and the "plot" is predictable torture porn. That being said, you should still give it a chance and I'm happy for everyone who enjoys it, if they don't rub it in my face.

It's incredible but I do have to agree that Season 1 Subaru isn't a particularly well written character and some scenes are a bit repetitive (you'll know what I mean) especially for the first few episodes but it gets better, a lot better in fact. One of my all time favorites.

Tldr for everything said here is that if u like the mc u will like the show and vice versa
The characters are written well and as it is the novel is way better than the anime
The anime is pog tho, about the romance in ReZero isn't on the surface but more like an underlying theme
For eg the reason for Subaru not leaving Emilia to die was due to her being the first person to be kind towards him.
Also for every Rem lover out there...Rems love is described as a sickness so gud luck living with that

Subaru is pretty relatable to me especially in season 2 of the show which is probably why he's my favourite character of all time.Get used to his voice actor cause there's a lot of screaming and crying by him due to the shit he goes through.

One of the best, if not the best isekai anime I have watched. The only thing bad is MC in Season 1 but believe me his character development is fantastic at the end of Season 1 and afterwards.
