So yeah, how are the Japanese guys handling this trainwreck of a season, are they happy about it or pissed like us?

They really don't care all that much
TPN S1 was more popular overseas than in Japan.
One of the points of speculation is, in fact, that Cloverworks and Shirai decided to end the whole show with these 11 episodes while changing the story because the 1st season in Japan was a flop. Probably they thought "well, shit's already ruined... let's just diverge from the source so maybe a couple of hundreds of people that are interested will buy the manga to see what REALLY happened"

Man what was that ending... they talk about a queen and her nobles and then the anime is just over like that???? They could have had another season or 2 showing those nobles and shit like that but Jesus... this was a big waist of a season 2 just for them to timejump to the final conclusion

That was a pretty dumb move, they could have made a "read the manga" ending or something

Reminds me of Big O. I vaguely recall that the second season was made for it just because of the huge overseas support.

Nope. The promised Neverland Committee wrote s2 then threw in Shirai's name in credits last minute as a scapegoat knowing full well that they made such shitty adaptation that fans were going to be absolutely pissed about. Don't believe me? Here's the interview where members (director Kanbe, Mamoru and Aniplex producers Kenya Suzuki and Shinobu Ono ) of TPN Committee discussing how they wrote s2 while also stating that while they were writing it Shirai was busy finishing the manga. Sharai doesnt have ownership rights to the story and the only time they started to claim he oversaw the anime was AFTER it was completed, right before (less than two weeks actually) before season 2 premiered

Who else is in the TPN Committee? Shueisha who helped produce it. They also happen to be the publishing house of Shonen Jump mag. S2 was their publicity stunt to boost their manga sales of TPN by purposefully making s2 horribly adapted so that angry manga fans got tricked into being unpaid promotional staff unbeknownst to them, every time they watched season 2 then ranted online to " Just go read the manga'.
Basically all anime only fans and manga fans of TPN just got punked by a bunch of greedy businessmen in suits, when they had us hyped for their manga commercial that they claimed was an anime 2nd season of this series

Damn that's a lot of 1 stars lol. Looks like they're just as confused as us about why so much was cut.

Ironically that didn’t work on me, because now I have lost interest in the franchise as a whole and won’t read the manga lmao. But to a degree their degenerate strategy worked.

Wow Japanese fans are vocal about the second season and they are not happy. They're discontented with the fight and with the whole changing the world thing. I guess they were holding out hope for a genocide route. There's even a petition that's garnered thousands of signatures to have the season redone. Obviously that wont happen but it shows how unhappy they are.

yup, sad but true. A lot of fans from what I've seen are stuck in the middle between wanting closure to the story by reading how it was truly meant to be told, and not wanting to cave or give any legitimacy plus profit towards those businessmen who decided on slimy tactics to fatten their pockets while wasting all of our time.

Very well said. For real, I would be more interested in the story if I didn't know that they intentionally tanked S2 to boost manga sales. It's such a sly and frankly disappointing strategy. It sucks, but I'm over it now. Got JJK, BC and MHA to look forward to for Weekly Shonen Jump content anyway.
