I know that Akane have to move on and Izumi want to go to the same middle school as her but the two of them end together in the anime? They end up as a couple or it is a open ending with continuation in a manga or something like that. Sorry for my bad english.

Yup, watch the ending song of the final episode, it essentially tells you what happens after their separation.

But it is a happy ending right? A true happ ending, I mean, a lot of finals are happy based on each people point of view or bittersweet.

Yes, though the very ending is a bit anticlimatic if you ask me

I definitely agree that it's anticlimactic. Not only that, but I feel that it strove away from the realism the series achieved. Personally though, I still think its well executed.

I'm actually really glad that they gave us that montage of their life after middle school. The anime ends with a full resolute and complete ending unlike so many romance anime.

It is a fair point that the ending is anticlimactic, but eh, it's satisfying enough.

8-9/10

I felt the ending montage sequence could have totally been another OVA or Afterstory in itself. But I think the ending they gave to the characters is respectable enough, middle schoolers staying together till hey marry isn't common but it isn't impossible either. I just didn't want the story to inexplicable turn tragic like the rest of the 8/10 romance shows I've seen to forcefully bring out the viewers emotions of grief and sadness, and I guess a good couple is rewarded with a good end.

Yes, it is. But the better question in my opinion is: would the anime be better with a sad ending?

Nah. It was very much set up for a happy ending so a sad ending wouldn't fit. It would kill the creativity the show had set up. The foreshadowing, symbolism, the whole twist with the Line ED belonging to them, and the uniqueness of the ending itself.

I am not sure what people mean when they say this. The show has always been a mixture of idealism and realism. It has never been a 100% realistic portrayal of first love. The main theme of the show has always been about the beauty of love and it stayed consistent with that. Although the main couple's relationship can be relatable, it still is very much different from your usual couple at their age. Which is exactly why things work out the way it did. You wouldn't see such maturity and commitment in a 15 year old's relationship. I don't see how it's anticlimactic either when it's very fitting. It's like you ignored the whole set up, foreshadowing, symbolism, and many great details.

I have to disagree. The ending was not anticlimactic at all. The ending credits showing what happens is just to give peace to mind. The real ending was the final train scene stuff. Also either way, the ending credit resolution was very well done and fits the characteristics of this anime very well.

I dont know what you mean by real ending. The end credit is the ending. Implying that the train scene is the ending is disregarding the rest of the story. The story hasn't ended but continues with the end credit stuff which is why you'd consider it the ending. The ending is that they lived happily ever after and had a baby. That's the actual ending of the story.

Well you can interpret it that way too. All I'm saying is that either way its not anticlimactic to me at all. But you can have your own opinion.

I just want to understand your opinion better is all. I don't think it's anti climactic at all either but I just don't really understand why you're calling the train scene the "real" ending. Like, what's that even suppose to mean. I guess maybe you consider the end credits to be more of a epilogue?

Yes it's,
The ending song shows a montage of getting married and have a child.

But it's kind of disappointing, I mean isn't better to make an episode or 10 minutes for showing their meeting/marriage/child instead of 1 minute montage. There was many scenes were going slowly.

At the end, the montage was clear and complete, so I'm glad with this ending 9/10.

I think it is perfectly executed. I honestly teared up it was so fulfilling. A truly lovely tale with even more charming characters. The ending montage made me tear up it was just so beautiful God I watched this on a whim.
