Never, ever adapt something with at least a quite good story into a movie(s) the screen time it's not enough to give the characters and events the justice of the source material.
On Seasons depends on how many chapters they give the adaptation we have seen a lot of disasters of long manga tried to be adapted into a 12 chapter anime, but even so that's the best way to adapt a manga given the correct seasons and chapters. Weekly series it's the same but it's mostly for long never ending stories or weekly shounens by how the Japanese TV works.

By weekly, I assume you mean a format similar to One Piece, Naruto etc. Honestly, this is something I don't like since the anime catches up with the manga especially if it's a monthly one leading to sluggish pacing or fillers which are usually bad. It has worked pretty well before with Gintama and HxH(2011) though those two and especially the latter had plenty of material to cover. Also, the consistency of animation quality and direction is also really questionable given the limited amount of time the studio has to work.

Seasons is the preferred one. The animators have more time to fix some stuff before the episode release and the author can also increase the gap between the manga and the anime which can help for future seasons if the manga sells well.

Movies are mostly good for original stuff, cover a certain volume of a LN or even work as epilogues for a series if the material is not enough for at least one cour(12-13 episodes).

You know it always depends.
Something like Detective Conan I think it be best to be weekly rather than other two as it is...

Seasonals are great for most of the anime

Well, about movies something like "Kara no Kyoukai" worked before so we can't say that doesn't work at all

seasons. long weekly running animes are tiring, whereas seasons allow for the audience to pause in their watching - distance makes the heart grow fonder, and all that jazz - and also typically will have more time to produce the episodes.

movies are too short
long weekly series catch up to the manga quickly and well it's not as good quality.
seasons are prob the best because its usually better executed and produced. Only downside is obviously waiting for a new season

Seasons in an ideal world but that also leads to many series being unfinished since anime rarely go beyond 2 seasons(Noragami, Blue Exorcist for example). I have my doubts that Ufotable are willing to do 4+ seasons of Demon Slayer to cover everything.

just gimme that weekly episode until the end of time with a movie thrown in here and there, that's the ideal for me

really either way is totally fine though

I'll take an unfinished seasonal adaptation focused on specific arcs with effort put in over shitting out weekly garbage with the occasional decent episode.

I would only accept a movie adaptation if the source material allows it. Like Koe no Katachi, if it had been a season instead of a movie, might have had areas bogged down to try and fill the 24 minute mark, reducing the impact the story was trying to make imo.

On the other end, if a company tried to turn a story like Attack on Titan into a couple of movies, the impact would get lost for that too because the story needed time to flesh out the setting, themes and characters. There were way too many to cram it all into a couple of hours

The best way to adapt something is to wait until the source is over and you have a complete picture of the whole thing and can actually plan out the storyline(s) over however many episodes it will take to adapt the whole source to maximum effect without pacing or quality issues and no need to impliment boring stall tactics to drag things out. However, very few people in Japan possess enough intelligence to do this for some unknown reason.

I'm a little confused: isn't weekly series and seasons the same? Weekly series = anime that airs once per week while seasons = anime that airs once per week, but more seasons?
Even though I voted weekly series, I feel as though this poll is too broad; because the best way to adapt a manga depends on its length. If it's long, than weekly series/seasons, but if it's short, then a movie is best.
