Q:Can you swear to protecc Raphtalia?
A:While I everyone can enjoy the content as they wish, I will protecc Raphtalia.

Q:Who's your favorite character in Shield Hero?
A:Naofumi, he never gives up no matter how difficult the situation.

Q:What are the chances of a shield hero season 2?
A:it all depends on our fans and how much support they continue give the series. watch Shield Hero legally on sites such as Crunchyroll and purchase Shield Hero goods/Blu-rays once they become available.

Q:Seeing that the promotional video for Shield Hero came out 1.5 years ago, and with the high demands in effort and time for creating a full-length animated series (not just Shield Hero but other works as well): What has been the most difficult part or greatest challenge in bringing a series to life on the screen? What has been your favorite part?
A:The most difficult part is securing the schedule of talented staff. My favorite part is seeing all the reaction you guys have had for Shield Hero.

Q:In the process of adapting a series, who/how would decisions to make use of creative changes to the narrative rather than making a 1-to-1 adaptation come up? Is it a decision assigned to one of various teams or more like one person's call?
A:We would like to not change too much of the original story, but there are things we must cut due to episode duration. In the case we do have to cut content, it is a decision all the staff members are involved in.

Q:It may be more difficult for you to see the responses from places outside Japan, but have you noticed any significant differences in the ways fans from around the world have reacted to the shows? If so, does that affect any decisions in the production process or marketing?
A:
We are especially concerned about the overseas reactions for this show, so I check MAL and have also begun to check Reddit as well. As far I've seen, the reactions domestically have not been too different from overseas fans.

Q:How do you feel this show has done compared to other things you have worked on?
A:This has been my biggest hit overseas and happy about it.

Q:Concerning the Isekai Quartet that is about to come out later this year, depending on its success, will there be more of such crossovers? As a fan of the Isekai genre, I am ever so excited for such crossovers between so many amazing Isekai!
A:It'd be interesting if Shield Hero can make an appearance on Isekai Quartet.

Also, if you want to look at all of the responses from his ama you can also check here: https://www.reddit.com/user/kadokawa_tamura/comments/

Important to note that it says that he is a business producer. Not the writer of the story so questions for that weren't covered other than whether the content from the original source was cut out or changed to fit into the adaptation.

Shield hero is not even controversial.

Something like Dead Tube is controversial, I can see why some people viewed Goblin Slayer eps 1 as controversial, but Rise of Shield Hero is deemed controversial only because of SJW narrative

SJW narrative is why any anime ever becomes controversial. Everyone else considers it a piece of fiction made to entertain. However they are the ones that tend to bark the loudest.

Also Dead Tube...That's an interesting synopsis.

It's always nice to see some confirmation that Japan doesn't care about SJW.

I gotta say there are a few truly controversial anime out there like Boku No Pico, and Kodomo no Jikan ...
however, you do have a point there as the news network only get loud whenever SJW narrative involved

The producer did mention that he does plan to adapt the full series of shield hero if it gets enough support from fans(buying blue rays, merchandise and so on).

Ironically, PC culture and SJW controversies in the preceding years have probably increased the appeal of Shield Hero rather than the opposite. It's hard to imagine a series of this caliber being so popular ten or more years ago.

I think it's more of SAO's fault for the popularity of isekai than SJW controversies.

You are right.
To love something you don't actually need a reason but to hate something you will/should have a reason this is what creates curiosity about it and draws people towards an anime.

I didn't say that SJW controversies were responsible for the popularity of isekai.

I said that they increased popularity of this particular show instead of decrease the popularity, as they probably intended.

That's exactly it. Not only is the MC victimized endlessly, but he is accused of a rape he didn't do. Couldn't fit the current social/political climate better.
