Which anime do you think had the best animation in 2018?
Violet Evergarden? or Iroduku? or maybe Attack on Titan?

if you want best animation quality you cannot go wrong with most anime movies, since they have shorter length than a 12 episodes TV anime so the animators have a lot of time to draw and animate things better with a movie

i have not seen any anime movie this year besides the cam-rip version of Dragonball Super Broly but i recommend that anime movie anyway

If the series is anything to go by, probably the My Hero Academia movie.

From what I've saw when it when it came to TV series, Violet Evergarden blows everything out of the water.

Did you watch the first 15-20 minutes? That art style/animation was low tier.

As I said, if the series is anything to go by.
I haven't watched the movie yet, thus ''probably'', because for a series MHA has pretty good animation, and you can always expect a movie to have better animation.

I'm not saying it is this way, just predicting/guessing.
That said, I'll judge for myself when I watch it.

I like the animation of Levy vs Kenny's Squad from SnK.
Hanebado also has good animation.

Ah, I didn't know you havent watched it, my bad. I saw the movie in theaters and roughly the first 20ish minutes it was low quality compared to regular MHA episodes. It increases in quality like an exponential graph as the movie goes on. They did work on the movie until the very last day after all, some things had to be rushed.

Violet Evergarden wins the best animation for 2018 to me. Really lots of frames to make them smooth. High quality. Also this should go to anime discussion instead of casual.

Oh yeah, I forgot that anime. That really is actually the best animation /s

As much as I didn't like it as a whole I'd have to go with Violet Evergarden.

i'd definitely say violet everygarden.
animation was so beautiful that i spent most of the time looking at the flowers they were showing, and missed some subtitles. the brooch that gilbert gave her was sparkling gorgeous, and so were the eyes for every character.

a good second is attack on titan, the cave fight scene was pretty.

I would go with either hinamatsuri or violet evergarden. Honestly though, to me, violet was the top anime of the year anyway and it was so well made its not even a surprise why it's first for me. Hinamatsuri though, while not having the budget and directing violet had was still one of the most fluid animes this year. I'm surprised no one else has said that yet.

The whole cast of character felt so alive to the point you could read many scenes off of their body language and expressive faces, which is something is want to see more in 2019

AoT probably had the best animation this year.

Violet Evergarden had a bunch of good teasers that everyone circlejerked over and then none of it was in the actual show lmao.

Although tbh part of it was due to nothing interesting happening in the show for like 8 episodes lol

Violet Evergarden or Yuru Camp.

Both shows had great environmental scenes.
