I know MAL doesn't show manhwa without official release on it's database, just like original english language comics.
But nowadays, a lot of people are interested in manhwas and the fanbase is growing. Now i dunno if this topic has already been discussed before, but my suggestion is that you make a seperate section/category for these 'unpublished manhwas' like Tower of God, The Gamer and so on.
I'm not asking you to mix them with published manhwas like Noblesse but atleast include them on the site and slowly improve the database.

It'd be nice, but yeah, been suggested lots and probably never going to be approved. I kinda get it, but at the same time I'd love for the 'Sweet Home' manhwa by the creators of 'Bastard' to be added here.

Been rejected time and time again. Yes, it's annoying as a person who reads webcomics and manhwa that we don't really have an official place for them here.

Never going to happen. And if it does, I'll be leaving MAL.

Jokes aside, MAL wasn't created with this intention. Of course, it's not wrong or bad to adapt to changing tastes, but that should not mean that MAL should feel pressed to change by its users. Remember this: in the end, MAL is a profit-making website owned by a very large business called DeNa. In any business circumstance, changing your target market is risky, expensive, and impractical.

Tell me, if you owned a multi-billion dollar business, would you change your marketing strategy because a minority of your consumers are suggesting the change?

I definitely wouldn't.

I don't think it is a minority since all the other websites are adapting to this change. And for the most part, everyone has at least one of these on their list who reads manga.

I mean they wont even label Isekai, not saying you are wrong but, a lot of people like Isekai more than they like Mecha and yet Mecha is here. They wont label magical girl anime, even if it has a sigificant base and it is fairly easy to tell if it is a magical girl anime much like a mecha.

They just wont create new labels no matter how popular they are and I really don't feel like excusing the laziness.

In other news, manga only has one database moderator and they are very behind with just regular manga. Vs. other websites which have more than one. Often paying someone to manage the database as well which MAL can't be bothered to do. Which I think is the real reason they wont add it because it is more work and they can't be bothered to improve anything on this site until they legally have to.

Often the manwa we suggest are published by a professional, but are just not physically released which is what they require. Even though the market for manga is changing, and manwa changed first.

You are right, MAL will not do anything no matter how many people would want them to do something different. And people who defend MAL will say what you say to anyone who would like any sort of change no matter how much it would make sense.

Sweet Home definitely needs to be added!
I completely agree...Webtoons are gaining a lot of popularity, and the popular ones should definitely be listed here
