Anime MC With Scars From Past

Hello, I am looking for an anime that has a reveal of a characters past. Whether it is literally (for example) a giant scar on their back or maybe something like an old foe. I am currently watching the anime Armed Girls Machiavellism and I liked how they did the scar reveal.
It would be cool if like this anime, the girls / romantic interests were being a little to harsh on the MC without knowing their true past.
If there are any animes that have a scene like this then I would love to hear it! Thanks and have a good day :D

Cowboy Bebop has every hero/heroine bearing scars of their past (physically, metaphorically or both). Except the little girl. The "main" hero also has an old foe resurging from his hidden past as soon as the fifth or sixth episode.

I also like parts in anime when the companions of the MC are like "oh shet" when they see the scars.

So far we've seen the back stories for most of the girls in Princess Principal, and they all had horrible lives to start.

Having a dark back story is rather de rigeur these days. All the kids in the currenly-airing Made in Abyss are orphans, and one seems to be a mysterious robot/android boy.

For a dramatic adventure, I'll suggest Seirei no Moribito. The heroine Balsa is a bodyguard. Over her life she has killed eight people she cared about and is trying to make amends by protecting eight more.

Of course, if you're really looking for someone with a scarred past, no one can top Johan in Monster. Revy in Black Lagoon is another option.

The fruit of Grisaia is basically a compilation of crazy back stories... but you have to watch the sequel "special" to get the backstory of the MC, which is basically the best part of the whole thing. I won't spoil anything, but he literally had the worst past EVER. I even rate it over Guts from berserk in some ways (****NOT IN OVERALL QUALITY JUST THE BACKSTORY****)
