Hi I am looking for an anime with an MC that is constantly training to improve. An example of a character with the kind of work ethic I am looking for would be Tsukamoto from Days. I am not picky on what the MC is training for so long as it is evident that they are working hard and progressing to their goal. Thanks in advance for the recommendations.

I think baby steps completely fit the criteria, it is about tennis. The main protagonist is a super hard working guy, always take notes and keep training to improve.

Cross Game. Your best bet, this show got a lot of everything, especially reasonable characters with quite the right ambitions.

Bakuman: Becoming Manga Artists

Saekano: Making Visual Novels.

Nana: Take a train to Tokyo and become a Rockstar.

Koe no Katachi: Trying his very hardest in his search for redemption.

Hibike Euphonium: Making some kind of national highschool music contest. May sound superficial, but the character development and the emphasis on the social environment that comes with the music terrain is very entertaining.

Coppelion: Kinda "no man left behind" theme. Ibara is really giving her all to make this mission as much of a success as she can.

Kuroko no basket: tbh I didn't like this that much and I don't understand the ratings as well but this is what you asked for

Many forget about this masterpiece:

Capeta.

Believe me, you'll never find such an amazing anime like this. Capeta (MC) aspires to be world's fastest F1 racer, but his family is poor. He is hardworking, determined and dedicated and never gives up despite the extreme hurdles he faces. Each and evey character, emotions, feelings are portrayed beautifully. It is such an exciting anime. And the best thing is, this anime is completely realistic. The only drawback is art. It is a bit bland.

Inazuma Eleven.

It is kinda a kids anime, but Endou mamoru is quite hardworking and charismatic. Hmm..but soccer with superpowers seems kinda wierd.
