Tamen de Gushi is a webtoon, and thus is not on MAL.
What is on MAL is SQ: Begin With Your Name! which is a compilation of the webtoon chapters in a book format.
MAL DB only contains what is published in book format and ignores webtoon.

The "9 chapters" of the book actually encompass the first 73 chapters of the webtoon.

What will probably happens is when a hypothetical second book will be published, a new entry will appears on MAL DB, and both entries will be linked as sequel/prequel.
Like that manga and that one: while they are basically the same story and you can't read the second one without reading the first one before, and the first volume isn't conclusive at all, they still have two different entries.
