Saitama and Shigeo Kageyama a.k.a Mob.

Same creator. Same bored face. Both extremely powerful.

There are obvious reasons why these two protagonists are constantly compared between one another.

But what traits do you think distinguishes the two characters and make them their own?

What's different between the mindset, goals, and the relationships the two characters maintain?

What traits in particular may make these two characters interesting to you?

And finally, which character do you like more?

Differences:
Age

Social status - Saitama is the 'sensei' and Mob is the 'student'

Both don't have any exemplified goals although both want superficial traits such as popularity, women etc.

Saitama has had much more character development which is why he's naturally more likable and why OPM was more of a success - he's meme quality.

Ultimately, they're both completely different protagonists and it's pointless to compare the two. They're worlds apart.

I DID pay attention while watching the two series. So I know the differences between the two characters.

I made this thread to see what OTHERS think about the matter since I already understand my own viewpoint.

There's a huge difference to me between the two. Saitama is this constantly bored goofball, although he does demonstrate that he is introspective enough at times to understand what other people are feeling. Mob on the other hand lacks this ability - he is really socially incapable, and constantly demonstrates how bad he is at judging and reading people throughout the series.

In addition, Mob's far less stable in terms of his emotions compared to Saitama, which makes him a lot more interesting, at least to me anyway. This should be really obvious as each character's emotions are huge parts of the series.

Finally there's what they do with being overpowered - while Saitama finds that being stupidly powerful is pretty darn boring, he doesn't really go out of his way to try and do anything else with himself like Mob does when he realizes that his powers won't help him do everything. So I guess while they might seem somewhat similar, its really only a surface thing.

Aside for Mob having pretty much the same fairly down to earth and reasonable values they really have nothing in common. Saitama is more like Reigen then Mob.

Mob is much closer to young Tatsumaki IMO. Though it's more because of how they contrast after the critical point (at the same age, no less) that completely changed their lives. They were actually very similar before that.
