First, Parasyte is famous. If you weren't around to witness the phenomena back in the day, go read all about it on Wikipedia. Kiseijuu was big and it still is, big enough to get 2 simultaneous adaptations the moment Japanese got the rights back. Might've been even bigger if they didn't sell them in the first place, or if WB didn't fuck it up with the western adaptation.

Second, it's just 1 episode. It might be better to wait a bit before calling this adaptation shit, you know? Just sayin'

And third, the previous adaptation was good. I quite enjoyed it as a stand-alone experience.
