Just give it a shot, it's really worth it. It's lighthearted and easy to get into. I have rewatch it so many times.

Didn't seem like a shoujo to me but that's probably because 99% of shoujo's are romances (it seems) and this one isn't. Perhaps because the overall ambience was kinda warm and fuzzy (but also a bit sad or sentimental in places).

It's episodic with each episode or mini arc revolving around a different spirit getting its release from its bondage to the book the guy inherited. Most of the spirits just show up like long lost friends; others are a bit pissed and wouldn't mind a pound of flesh --but don't expect any flashy combat here.

Personally it didn't live up to the hype it got in the forums a few months ago but it was a decent watch. Wouldn't hurt to try 3 or 4 episodes, at least.

Pretty much this. It is an episodic story where the main guy, Natsume releases the bind on the yokai (monster in Japanese) his grandmother captured, and along the way, he also meets new friends and creates new bonds. Most of the yokai have their own individual story, a sad one, a happy one, a heartwarming one, all kinds.

If you're not fond of episodic story, fear not, it's not entirely episodic, as it does have gradual development on the characters, bond, and the overall theme of the story. It can also be really funny too, especially that Madara. :D

Watch the first episode, it will give you an overall impression of the series. If it doesn't catch you, stop watching.
