What was the reason for Takanashi not going into

It was too long ago, when I watched the first season, so I'm wondering why Takanashi, who loves small things/kids doesn't pat Yamadas Head unlike he does with Popura-Chans head.

I mean, both Yamada and Popura are small? So why only Popura?
Is the sole reason, that Yamada is always doing bad at work? :O

1. She's about 20cm taller than Popura.

2. She's a freeloading compulsive liar that just adds to his workload at Wagnaria. (Still one of my favorite chars along with Souma and Inami)
