| Although I call it swordplay it doesn't have to be limited to swords. They could use an axe, spear or even fisticuffs, it is all fine what I really am looking for is that the wielder is skilled and the fights are cool. Though the characters can exhibit feats of superhuman strength or speed I want to avoid any real super powers or magic. An example of the kinda show I am looking for is Samurai Champloo. Also I like badass chicks and romance in my anime so while they are not required extra points if they are there. |

| Fate/ Unlimited Blade Works has what you ask, it's the only show that comes to mind, but the swordplay isn't the main focus: there's a lot of magic involved. Also it doesn't really make sense without already knowing the universe from playing Fate/ Stay Night... sry (or watching... ugh.) |

| Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal. Imo the best samurai show out there. It is a 4 episode ova and is the prequel to rurouni kenshin. |
