| I am 42. I am a single father of 4 boys. The oldest is 14. The others go down in 2/2.5 year increments. I permit them access to my manga and anime both physical and digital. Their mother has yelled at me for letting them read stuff like "First Love Sisters" and "Kashimashi." I started heavily into Anime & Manga 3-4 years ago. There was no real move into Yuri. Marimite is what let me know the "genre" existed. |

When my oldest boy started hanging out with these girls who wanted to put make-up on him, we did have a talk. I explained to him that he had my hair, so he wouldn't be able to pull off the cross-dressing past 18 (if that) & that he should avoid tarting up like an American 15 year old school-girl (yes, yes I know the girls were 14 also). I then explained that men's make-up had to be applied differently & for different effect (because manly men don't look good in womanly make-up). I then made him watch all the videos from Marilyn Manson's "Lest We Forget" retrospective. Pointing out the pros and cons. We then watched "Rocky Horror Picture Show." I grew up with Human League, Christian Death and other Death Rock, Synth-Pop, Punk Rock, Gothic bands. It is very hard to shock me. Sure, I want grandchildren -- or rather I want my children to suffer as I have suffered while I laugh at them ;) -- but I don't really care whether they are gay or straight. I would ask them to not tell their grandparents because I don't want to give my parent's something new to bitch about. PS. My last girlfriend would be 23 now.... |

I truly detest the adulation of poverty thing which causes people to wear clothes that don't fit, or has massive holes in it. At one time one could have argued that it was a protest to mainstream fashion, but since they sell the clothes with holes for more than an intact pair would cost... Though if it is clean, fits & essentially intact, I don't have a problem with it. The cardinal rule is that if I am not bothered by it, they can wear it. By "bothered" I mean the school calling me to whine about how shirt XYZ was offensive. Bear in mind that I have worn my T-Shirt Hell T's to this school, along with my Jack Parson's "We Are The Witchcraft" & Laibach "We Believe in God But We Do Not Trust Him" T-Shirts. So it really annoys me when the school calls. I was worried for a while when they wanted to wear my "Tentacle Sex" shirt to school, but either they never did or they didn't get in trouble -- which is the same thing, so long as it is clean when I want to wear it. |

| I'm 22 and I started reading yuri around 3 to 4 years ago, when I discovered my sexuality ^^. I was completely squeamish about anything sexual before I got to college, even though I had been exposed to it when I was very young (not sure when though). It was kinda like, I knew it existed and pretty much what it entailed, but I didn't want to talk about it and felt it was more suitable to keep it private. Plus, I wasn't that interested :P But college has completely broken me of that XD. |

| I'm 24, it feels completely horrible to be slightly older than nearly everybody. I hate aging =/. But at the same time I realize, does it really matter?
