Hi all, I've made one other post in the past on this forum and it was extremely helpful in finding some new stuff to watch, so i'm back again and looking for some help in figuring out what to watch next.

I'm a big fan of fantasy/action anime with good plot and not a bunch of filler. I would PREFER for it to not be gun centered because I enjoy them less than the sword/magic animes but I'm not totally closed off to it if it's something really awesome like Cowboy bebop.

Hunter x hunter/fate zero/claymore/FMA brotherhood are my favorite anime that I've watched and really liked recently to give you a reference as to what I enjoy. Soul eater, hellsing, and attack on titan are all up there too.

I recently started watching Berserk. I've heard lots of praise about it, and while it's enjoyable I havent been blown away yet (about 7 episodes in right now.) Another show I started but hasnt hooked me is Magi. I've thought about starting D Gray man, but the fact that it doesn't have an ending kind of throws me off.

I like shows with badass sword fights, scary/well designed monsters and a good story. I don't really enjoy the more light hearted action anime shows like the big 3, I've tried to get into it but it's not really my style. I prefer my anime to be more dark and serious. Hunter x Hunter originally didn't catch my eye due to this, but it ended up being the best damn show i've ever seen and I'm sad to see it go (for now)

Sorry if this was a bit rambly, hopefully you guys can help me out! If you are going to leave a suggestion, a description of the show isn't necessary but it would be nice to know why you think I would enjoy it.

The three shows that i've come up with on my own, that I've heard are good but havent gotten started are:

Darker than black
Blood+
akame ga kill

Thanks in advance!

I'd say "Sword art online" it's a very good anime, it's about a person caught inside a game.
The first season is packed with swordfights, second one has swordfights too but more magic.

Sword art II is mostly about guns but there are some swords too.

Thanks, but I've already seen sword art. Loved the first half of the first season, havent been too impressed with the direction they took since ending the first game.

I was actually JUST looking at Akame ga kill, I've heard it mentioned a few times and just went and watched the trailer and I think it's going to be right up my alley. I've seen sword art and the other two are new to me so I'll look into those too :D

So you're just going to stop watching the rest even though you love it? Because you said you were "finished" watching it.

I guess what you are Looking for is Sward art online
Log Horizon
Accel world
Inuyasha (its more adventures and it have 100+ episodes so you know what is waiting for you when you start to watch it)
Akame ga kill (thats awesome anime still airing tho)
Blood+ I wathed it and its good anime the story is nice and its serious so I recomend that one well everything else is "Kinda" serius but everything that I said, personaly I think you should pick Blood+

@BlueXRam I think he wanted to say was that he finished the last aired episode?

Hmmm Try this one Hakuouki it about Shinsengumi and entering an Edo period and there are demons ;) <3 I LOVE this one its my fav. Its serious it does have a guns but as you watch it you just wont notice it cuz well you know (shinsengumi had 2 greatest swordsman in that period ;) it is blood and dude give it a chance)!!

Even without magic or swords, I would definitely recommend to you the Hajime no Ippo series. It seems stupid due to the "boxing niche" but look further. They have really great fights; keeps you in the edge most of the time, great comedy, and really great character development.

One of the more underrated shounens out there.

All the "action" in Hikaru no Go takes place on a Go board, but it is one of the most dramatic shows I've ever watched. If you find it appealing, I recommend Chihayafuru and Shion no Ou as well.
