Yu Yu Hakusho subs vs dubs

Hi guys, I recently started watching this classic and I was watching it with subs, but after reading through a few reviews it seems most people say the english dubbed is equal if not better than the subs. Just wondering if i should switch over to watching dubbed, and also are there multiple dubs? I read in the reviews some people complaining about some dubs butchering the show and one was better. So are there multiple dubbed versions? If so which one should i be using or better yet anyone know where I could watch this so called awesome dubbed version.

I'm telling you it is hands down one of the best dubs of all time and it is superior to the subs. It is one of those rare cases, but trust me and many others will agree.

The Funimation Dub is the one you are looking for. If you can get your chance to get it on Blu-Ray, it is fairly cheap and looks amazing.

If you can tolerate Kuwabara's English voice ( I hear some dub fans even saying his voice can get annoying), then you'll be fine with the dub. Imo, most of the characters voices in English fit the the characters personalities a lot better. Yusuke actually sounds like a punk in english while in Japanese he just doesn't, and Kurama actually sounds like a guy. about the butchering, I've watched several episodes in Japanese after watching several in English, and I found the dub to be faithful, so yeah it's not butchered. As far as I can tell there is only one dub, but to be sure, like the poster above me said, it's the funimation dub.

I actually really like Kuwabara's dub voice. It pretty much made the character for me and it does fit him well.

English dub all the way. The VAs have done a great job, and there's just so many clever/witty/funny lines.

I watched both and I thought both were good. I always recommend the original though.

Thanks for the input guys. Yeah I ended up switching over to the dubbed and I admit its quite in character. I'm just amazed they dubbed over swear words like bitch and so forth. Thought it was released as a kid's show or something on funimation or was there like a censored and non-censored version.

I thought it fit him too, but I've heard that some people don't like his voice because they found it grating. I don't think so though
