| Just wondering. Me, even with my full time job I try to limit myself to $a ballpark of $$80 - $100 per month, not including any money spent at a con (at a con I might spend a couple hundred on anime/manga alone, but I only go to one or two a year) |

| It depends. Lately, I've spent a lot more then usual because of Right Stuf sales. Last month, I past the $200 mark. lol And during their Bandai sale over $250. I'm not buying anything for a while now. So, it varies with me. If I average it over a 12 month period, it would probably be $100 per month. |

| And that came out when? I got the original box set release when it sold for an average of $65 years back. It's understandable that older series will cost less. However, new releases like Code Geass go for $40 + per box set. But since I only buy online, I get them for less than $30 sometime and that's limited editions. So I never pay retail prices. :) |

| I have a floating budget of ~$1000 a year, though I've spent less recently because the industry is frustrating me and I'm less willing to give them my money. When TV rips are better quality video and fansubs offer better quality subtitles (particularly the typesetting, DVD limitations suck), why should I hand over $100 for a series? Not to mention the Japanese broadcasters censoring the TV version to rake in more on DVDs, and the stupid DVD only episodes and other broadcast delays and retardation (such as 4:3 crops) -- Mutilating the broadcast version I use as a preview to see what I want to buy just makes me want to download the DVD rips to watch the series properly. Once I have the R2 DVD rip, why should I pay for the R4 DVDs? Still, I do buy series I really love, especially if they weren't dicked around with by broadcasts, but I am spending less now than I used to. The nonsense they've been pulling lately is discouraging, not encouraging. |

| This is probably the worst place to ask that question :) Myself, I don't really keep track of how much I spend. Plus, I go through phases where I'll go crazy one month, then buy absolutely nothing the next. Though I do agree with Asako - the current state of the industry is discouraging me more and more each day. |

I'm getting a job this summer though so theoretically if I only spent all my money on anime I could spend like 150 bucks a week on the shit. XD |

| Not all that much actually, since I have the internet to view them on. I use to buy a lot of DVDs before that though, and still do if I find a series I like enough to buy the box sets on. |
| $0 Only exception is in May when I go to the Cons. That's when I spend generally around $500 on things like manga and artbooks. This year, I'm planning to cut back on my purchases because I'm probably going to Asia for vacation. |

| I pay like $3.50 a month for an eden account, and used to buy the odd dvd, but the quality of the fansubs these days, is higher than most dvds actually available in the UK, so untill we start seeing more blu-ray releases i can't see me paying for anything in the near future. |

| Not easy to say. I think my anime rates as about hmm 35% of my internet service pay out per month, and likely about 41% of my newshosting service bill per month. Ok those numbers were pulled out of thin air :) Thing is, my anime comes to me through my computer. So part of my expense to be online logically has to be connected with my anime needs. How does one sum up the cost to download an anime fansub episode though? |
