After finishing Steins;Gate a couple of days ago, I fell back down the rabbit hole of

Oh my God. What am I going to do with my life now that this epic anime has ended?!

... But since I'm quite picky about 'epic anime', I can never find anything quick enough to diminish that period of depression (consider yourself lucky if you never experience this, since many people actually do).

So! Instead of searching the internet for something new to watch like a Mad Man, I sat back and thought about what I should do to avoid this from happening again/to get over it. Consider this list my lessons learned :')

- Don't tank through as many episodes as possible all in one go (moderate how much you watch/when you watch)
- Re-watch an older anime you enjoyed to take away the blues, something lighthearted and funny
- Tell yourself you'll watch it again later in the year
- Don't hunt down amv's on youtube for the series... Because you will miss it and be all depressed

For now, this is all I can think of to help myself and others, so what do you guys think? Think it'll work or that I'm just a loonly for actually being depressed? :')

Felt the same way at one point and have some tips for the rest of us?? Then go ahead and comment away! I hope there are other tips out there.

Most anime veterans, the people who stuck with it after the honeymoon phase was over, will probably tell you to simply approach it as another form of entertainment. I have the idea that we're not fans of anime, but fans of specific anime, slugging through what's bad in hopes of finding more good.

I found that I was becoming an unpleasable twat a few years ago, but now it's actually become easier for me to enjoy anime. Not as much as I used to, but still something.

I tend to read one of these plotless, light-hearted comedy manga whenever I feel depressed after finishing an awesome anime. (As for Steins;Gate, I finished the manga Wa! right after it, and that got me in the mood to watch other anime)

You watch enough anime and you will either:
A. Learn to enjoy everything you watch, especially stuff you never thought you would be interested in previously.
or B. Get tired and fed up with the industry, say it's "dying" and be annoyed at the amount of crap that floods it.

I enjoy most shows, and I watch so many now, that it's more apparent what the amazing ones are. And when I get an amazing one I don't feel depressed when it's over. Because I've watched so many other amazing ones to know that there will always be more.

-Seek therapy and/or meds to get to the real psychological issue.

Consider why you feel bad after watching something good which is backwards of what it should be.

Get a tattoo of the anime so you can forever remember it whenever you feel lonely.

Probably the best way ive found to deal with it, or even a new show you know is going to be lighthearted and funny if you dont feel like rewatching at the time /shrug.

I felt the same way after completing Steins; Gate dub, and Beezlebub this past season.
Hell I even felt this way when Breaking Bad ended this year.

Sadly none of your solutions work.
If I don't tank through a lot of episodes I either end up forgetting what happened or just put the whole anime on hold because I will lose interest.
This is why Evagelion has been on hold for 3 years with me now. I thought It was pretty strange in a good way but know being 18 the show looks wack as hell and I cant past the first episode.
On top of that I'm now completely fed up with wimpy ass MC's

Do what I do and find another anime that you want to watch and start watching it immediately after you finish the first one. This way you get over it quicker.
