Is Gray being a jerk about Juvia?

I'm aware Gray is an ice mage but he's being very cold to Juvia. Especially after he said all those things about solidarity when they were fighting the mages from Lamia Scale.

We all know Juvia is obsessed with Gray and that's usually a turnoff. But that's the thing, every person in Fairy Tail knows this. It's not like Natsu and Lucy where neither of them is fully aware of their attraction.

If Gray tells her he doesn't want to be romantically involved and she still bothers him then I wouldn't mind him being cold or condescending. I mean, yes he just technically died and was saved by the daughter of his original savoir, but he has to address this matter eventually. After a while it just gets pathetic for both of them.

He probably will soon. Someone (Erza I think?) already told him that he needs to straighten things out with her considering the whole guild is probably embarrassed for Juvia since its so one sided at this point.

Oh! This I missed, if anyone has a chapter number for that please throw it my way. If Erza said that, that would be awesome. Erza is boss!

it's the chapter where Milliana reveals herself to Erza after Kagura destroyed that chick that was in Sabertooth...first or second day as I recall...
This world is mine. I think this world may even just be a long, long dream I'm watching. You guys may just be illusions, and it can't be proven whether or not you really exist either. In other words, this world was created with me at the center. So what will happen if I die? I don't know. My imagination isn't very creative; I just can't imagine myself dying. In other words, there is no way this world can completely disappear. But if I die, then everyone will disappear. I am the only one in this world who won't disappear. The rest are just people I see as if in a dream.

IMO, he shouldn't address it right now. The one-sided love is a hilarious comedical (is that even a word?) to this series.

But I wouldn't mind if Juvia saves Gray from some dangerous shit yet again, and then Gray grows a *little* affection towards her.

Juvia was amazing when she was introduced.
I don't like her at all now because she's been reduced to a blubbering fangirl.

She really hasn't done anything too notable for a while now except yell out "Gray-sama~~".
Orihime gets shit on a lot for yelling out "Kurosaki-kun!", lol please, Juvia is hardly doing any better than that.

Idk what my answer to your poll will be then.

Yeah its not that I don't like one sided love in anime. I mean, in One Piece, Hancock is fantastic.

Honestly it's annoying and I don't really get Hiro's way. He introduces Juvia, a powerful S-Class mage then suddenly reduces her to comedy relief. I think that girl sure has got a lot of potential and yet here she is, no character development, no real fights, nothing, I'm sad because I really like her and she needs some love from Mashima.

About Gray/Juvia thing, I don't believe there is just one-sided love. Okay maybe I'm going too far saying Gray might love her but I'm sure she's something more than "nakama" for him, but he can't put his finger on it YET.
You can see very well that he considers her as a strong mage and also that he likes her and feels comfortable with her as long as she is not going in fangirl mode. Maybe it's because I'm a girl and I'm searching for a bit of romance in this silly shonen but the way he was looking at her while fighting with Lyon and Chelia, well 'he liiikes her'. Don't forget he actually died for her, yes he could have done a lot of things but he decided to take a shot for her. Even Mashima wrote in the summary at the beginning of chapter 335 'Gray (...) sacrifices himself to save her'. It's weird especially after Tenrou and Deliora thing that he will never sacrifice himself and so on. But Mahima sure is a Troll and I remember clearly 'The story restarts from Gray's and Juvia's synchronized attack of love'. I mean WTF? He also wanted to tell her something that wasn't important and yet he just had to tell her this in the middle of the battle. About clearing things out, there was this so called rejection, but I think it's more about rejecting Juvia's fangirling not really her feelings, but oh well, who knows.

Anyway as fun as this one-sided love thing is I would rather see some good fights with Juvia, some character development even if it would mean moving on over Gray. I mean really she is very interesting character with awesome magic.
I got carried a bit in this topic but oh well, answering your question, yes he was a bit cold to her and it annoys me, because he didn't make anything clear, he should seriously talk with her and finish this or move to another level so she could become something more than just a fangirl.

Thanks, Yeah, I definitely liked when Juvia made friends with Lucy fighting guitar dude. The manga didn't really go anywhere with that though.

I love Juvia and I think her fangirling is hilarious.

That said, it's getting old now. It's been going on for how many chapters? Over 200? At some point enough is enough, the joke is old. Give her some real development.

I do wish Gray would give her a straight answer, or at least TRY to figure out his own feelings so that they can at least hint towards a relationship or so Juvia can just get with Lyon.

Honestly, Gray has been enough of a jerk that I wouldn't mind seeing Juvia with Lyon. At least he would treat her like a princess. I wouldn't want her to leave Fairy Tail to do it though.
