Personally, I think Aikawa is a girl pretending to be a guy by dressing up as a girl. Yeah, don't think too long on that one, I certainly didn't.

I too am of the opinion that she (?) is a girl pretending to be a guy. But hey, I wouldn't mind if Aikawa was a guy either. In any case, I doubt we'll be learning of his/her real gender anytime soon anyways.

The most obvious answer is that Aikawa is a girl. If Aikawa was a guy, I doubt Maki could have not felt his thing in this page. http://www.mangafox.com/manga/prunus_girl/v04/c021/8.html

I always figured Aikawa was a guy. Plus I recently read a Prunus Girl doujinshi and they made Aikawa a guy so I already made up my mind on Aikawa's gender.

So, remember when Aikawa fell and Maki saw his/her underwear and he was all like "oh, so you really are guy after all"? YEAH. Aikawa is a trap.

I believe she is a girl... haha it might be just because i want to believe that but i can't stop feeling uneasy thinking that she might just be playing with them all. I mean she has established that she is a "boy" but only in words

She's a girl. The page that shows him looking up her skirt doesn't directly state that " oh your a guy " ( the translation is wrong on it )

There is obviously going to be an arc about why she pretended to be a guy.

She is obviously a hermafrodite. The Swyer syndrome - a person has XY genome, like all men do, but the body is that of a girl, without penis or balls, but with vagina and all the stuff. Untill certain age such "girls" are unrecognisable, but then they start to differ - they don`t grow boobs or body hair and their figure remains childish. Of course they can never have children. But anatomically they are females.
The consequences of streak gonads to a person with Swyer syndrome:
1) Gonads cannot make estrogen, so the breasts will not develop and the uterus will not grow and menstruate until estrogen is administered. This is often given transdermally.
2) Gonads cannot make progesterone, so menstrual periods will not be predictable until progestin is administered, still usually as a pill.
3) Gonads cannot produce eggs so conceiving children naturally is not possible. A woman with a uterus but no ovaries may be able to become pregnant by implantation of another woman's fertilized egg (embryo transfer).

Spelled hermaphrodite but otherwise informative. Now I know all that weird futa porn I read actually exists. >__>

As for the original topic, he's a dude I hope. I think the Shounen Ai pairing is done well here, so I wouldn't mind a bit of homolust.

Well, even though i can speak english quite fine, sometimes i just make such small mistakes. Not enough practice, since where i live i rarely have to communicate in english.

I hope Aikawa is Swyer syndrome bearer. I don`t like shounen ai, and can`t tolerate homo pairings, but a girl would be kinda boring. After all this suspense i expect something spicy))

Aikawa is most likely a girl. If Aikawa wasn't, why would she blush when Maki forced himself on her? (chapter 3). If Aikawa was a guy, oh god.... Regardless, this is a great manga. Can't stop myself from reading.

I honestly don't know.

#1: If Aikawa is really a girl, it would feel very obvious (to me at least).
I feel like the intention from the beginning was to get the reader to think that he was in fact lying about being male.
So if that ends up being the case then it's like "okay...we kinda guessed that from the first chapter."

#2: If Aikawa really is a male, then i'd feel some redundancy.
Then was there really a need to drill it into our heads about him being a guy all the time?

I guess it shouldn't matter because I still enjoy reading this but at this point I'm leaning towards the I hope he's a boy side.
Since Maki always has gender on his mind and still their relationship is growing.

If Aikawa is a female then it's fine and cute, but for me this manga will fall a little bit closer into the generic cesspool.

this question will never be anwsered in manga because that the main plot in there.
Untill manga ends we will never know for sure.

Anyway either way is fine as long as we enjoy the story.

No it wasn't.
In fact, those pages didn't contain any relevant information at all.

Both Maki and Aikawa himself refer to him as a guy. Of course they will refer to wearing girl's clothes as crossdressing.

In other words, Aikawa's words are not reliable in regard to gender question. Otherwise, it wouldn't even be a question - he said he's male in the very beginning.
And Maki does not know and goes with "official" version.

Aikawa is a guy cross-dressing, deal with it. There should be "shounen-ai" in the genres, since it's clear they are both guys and they are going out.

Well, no, I don't think there should be shounen-ai in the genres, because that's actually spoilers. The uncertainty about Aikawa's gender is one of the central mysteries of the story.

But yes, his sex (and gender, interestingly) is male, he just enjoys crossdressing for Maki.

Obviously a dude, he would have at least revealed his lie after they started dating. Also the fact that Maki is still uncertain about his sexuality means he would have jumped on Aikawa much sooner if it was a she.
Stop ruining my trap mangas, dammit.
