Ok, I'm getting confused now. How does this season of Railgun relate to Index, chronologically?
First of all, it's established that it happens after the first season of Railgun, because we see those girls in the hospital in the first episode. Secondly, I believe I remember from the first season of Railgun, that somewhere halfway through, there was a radio report on that satellite that was shot down when Touma broke Index's curse in the first half of the first season of Index. So I thought Index 1 and Railgun 1 were happening roughly at the same time... But now in season 2 of Railgun, we see Misaka seamlessly clueless about the Sisters, while in Index 1 she already knew all about them... So what's the chronological order here? I'm so confused... :s

If someone would bother to draw a timeline it would be nice. :D

Sister's arc takes place during episodes 10-15 in Index season 1. Railgun S shows scenes that where not covered then. Basically this all happens during Index season 1 shortly after Misaka meets Touma.

This is my take:

The destruction of the Satellite was on episode 6. Misaka wasn't involved on that of course. Sister's arc was on episode 10.

There is like weeks of time gap between the destruction of the satellite and the sister's arc: Touma was in the hospital to recover and then deal with the alchemist and hospitalized again. Around that time, Misaka finds out about her clones and about the experiment to make Accelerator become level 6. That's probably the first time Misaka first encountered Accelerator. She mentioned it in Index season 1.

So I'd say, the Sister's arc in Railgun started few more days earlier compared to the beginning of the Sister's arc in Index.

Hmm... It seems it lacks a bit of information.

What was the day when Misaka had a violin concert?

The timeline ssjkog posted is based primarily on the lights novels and manga. The first season of the Railgun anime kind of changed things around, which is part of why things are a bit confusing.

To answer your question though, the idea is that Railgun season 1 happens during the first two arcs (Index and Deep Blood) of Index, while Railgun S starts a bit before Index's Sisters Arc.

Since it's anime original it is indeed somehow vague.

But if I had to fit it somewhere, I'd say:

(Speculation)
  • August 4
Kamijou Touma is discharged from the hospital. After seeing Index throwing a tantrum for being "underfed" for a week, Tsukuyomi Komoe hands them an invitation she received for a Tokiwadai festival, saying there was a buffet in there.
Misaka Mikoto performs with the violin and is unintentionally encouraged by a clueless Kamijou Touma.

That perfectly makes sense. Touma not recognizing Misaka demonstrates his loss of memories. Poltergeist arc happened around first week of August. So if I subtract the number of days from the end of the poltergeist arc and the concert, it would be on August 4. It fits well.

Was that something really important?I dont remember it in the manga and my memories from the filler-turned-canon part of the second part of Railgun 1 is very vague...

It is not really important because it is an anime original content. I am just concerned over Index cameo on that episode and made me wonder when is that. Most of the content in Railgun 1 occurred prior to Index arc so yeah.

If I remember correctly, the second half of Railgun 1 (Big spider, Poltergeist) is anime original content which the author also accepts it as canon.
