Looking for anime with cool main lead in school environment

Im looking for a main lead or important character that is any of these things ;
Cool, laid-back, seems to not care like Usui from Kaichou wa Maid-Sama, or someone funny and strong like Oga from Beelzebub, a character who is a badass or really good at something but nobody knows/he is trying to keep it a secret (kinda like Lelouch from Code Geass but he is kinda different or The lead from The World God Only Knows), I wouldn't mind a main that is thought of a loser at first, but when people find out a secret about him they change their opinion (like Saito from Zero no Tsukaima). People having the wrong idea about a person is also ok like with Ryuji in Toradora, his main character was kinda weak for me but it worked out in the end.

I would prefer it have a more modern art, or just have the episodes be in an HD format.

I am good with almost any genre, Romance, Drama, Action, Fantasy, Comedy, and I would love something SUPER sad, that would make me pause the video and be like "Damn, moment of silence please." and make me tear up (Like at the end of Code Geass R2), but I would prefer it not to be something with super gore like Elfen Lied.

The main cannot be a wimpy kid who is afraid of girls or is a scaredy little bitch when in trouble.
Animes that I have watched that meet/kinda sorta meet my criteria are;
(ones with * I especially liked)
*Nurarihyon No Mago (It wasn't usually at school, but he has to keep his secret from his friends)
*Beelzebub (Main Oga is pretty funny and strong, and seems laid-back)
*Kore wa Zombie Desuka (Main is hilarious and keeps the fact he is a zombie secret at his school, and he also has his Masou Shoujo secret revealed too, that's a plus for me)
*Kaichou wa Maid-Sama (Usui isn't the main, but he is cool and strong, and super mysterious, its got romance and some action too, so thats a plus)
*Ao no Exorcist (Rin is a super strong badass and is keeping it a secret)
Special A (Kei is a pretty cool guy when it comes to his love)
Zero No Tsukaima (Main Saito starts a loser, but has a badass mode, so thats pretty cool in my book)
Natsume Yujinchurou (Main is keeping his ability of seeing demons a secret)
To Love-Ru (Main is pretty weak overall, but I like how most of the girls are into him)
Chrono Shelled Regios (Main guy lead (I forgot his name) is strong and keeps it a secret because of his past)
Darker Than Black (Hei is a pretty mysterious and cool guy)
Zombie Loan (2 male leads are mysterious and laid-back)

Adding more

Infinite Stratos (Had a pretty cool main lead, but the story was a bit lacking)
Highschool DxD (Male lead was an OK kind of guy, but I did not mind the fanservice)
*Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate (Almost finished with this series, the main is a cool guy, who is badass and funny in certain situations
Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (Main is thought to be a delinquent but isn't really, I like the art and story is pretty good)
*Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou (Lead is funny strong, people see him as a badass/bad person after learning his secret or fate)
*Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo? (Izayoi is strong, mysterious, and laid-back)

I have watched a lot more, but I can't remember them right now, I will post if I do though.

Thanks for replying, I've seen them all expect for Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai, I will give that a try, and I will add the ones I saw to my list.

Ayakashi (didn't know he had a power, and after he finds out, hides it or tries to)

Blood + (she has a power which has to be awakened. She also has to hide this power from the people she has met at school.)

Dance in the Vampire Bund (he doesn't know he has a power at first, and then it awakens. He's a bad ass with the help of others after. There is school environment in some of the eps.)

Shinrei Tantei Yakumo (the setting is a school and he has a mysterious power that people are afraid of, i believe he did try to hide it at first...but people found out and used it to their advantage)

Shakugan no Shana (she and he both have something they have to hide. There is the school environment in this as well.)

Shingetsutan Tsukihime (school setting, and a lot of really weird stuff happens)

Toaru Majutsu no Index (school setting and he has a special power that not a lot of people know about.)

"People die if they get killed" who knew.

I must point out that you want many things. (For example many badass aren't cool or laid back etc,..) What i'm trying to suggest might not meet the anime people usually and most commonly suggest, but i think they match:

Anime that right popped into my head was Hyouka - school theme, laid back main character, mc isn't a scaredy cat and not afraid of girls, really good at something but nobody knows, mc thought of a loser at first, but when people find out a secret about him they change their opinion. What i liked was how they made usual school day happenings into an interesting mystery. :D

also maybe Cross Game - You didnt say anything about sports genre but you might like it. Art is bit different but you get used to it very fast. It has something SUPER sad, cool main character and isnt wimpy, really good at something but nobody knows, school setting, people find out a secret about him they change their opinion.

anyways check the first episodes out ;)

I'm lazy to recc anything else. D:
