Naruto found Sasuke.
Konan found Jiraiya...and they seem to have history.
Pain is on his way.

And don't know if anyone caught this, but Pain said "I took out this body just to kill him." Does that mean that Pain has a storage of different bodies to use? Hmm. I don't know which scene I want to see more here. Either or will be awesome.

Well they showed him having something like 6 bodies stored in one of the last couple chapters, so I would imagine that yes, he's got some stuff to choose from.

I'm more interested in the history between the two and Jiraiya. Jiraiya recognizes Konan, and knows her name..but he has no idea who "Pain" is by name. Yet Pain refers to him as Jiraiya-sensei...so he must've changed his name.

It's getting very interesting.

I might be wrong but this is just my gut feeling.

He probably has technique that lets him transfer his consciousness to different bodies (like Orochimaru). Each of the six bodies has a specific function like the one he's using now is for Pursuit/Capture.

Wow Avarice. That's actually a really interesting theory. You may be on to something there. I completely forgot about that.

That occurred to me as well, although I actually didn't remember that image... actually I couldn't remember there ever being a time when Minato's teammates were ever referred to in any way, shape or form. I just knew he had to have teammates at some point, so I took a guess. :P

I can really see Konan in that girl, but the other one doesn't look anything like Pain, so either Pain has really matured, or even the body we're used to seeing him with is not his original. Both are possible, I suppose.

And it occurs to me... then, Orochimaru must have also had a team under him at some point, right? That... is just scary...

Sasuke's right, Naruto never gives up! Whether that will ultimately be a good or bad thing, only time will tell. >_>

Konan's techniques still weird me out, though. :/

I just couldn't find that image in the anime. I don't remember if Konan's hair color back then was blue. Though, changing their appearances should be a simple task for shinobi of their level.

Pain called him Sensi so it was painfully obvious that he was Jiraiya's student. Jiraiya also made the comment that Konon has grown up (not exact words). I can only guess Konon was also his past student as well. But Pain has to be, there would be no reason to call Jiraiya Sensi.

We haven't met Pain yet. He has like 9 or more body's he uses for various things. I'm not exactly sure if there like dolls or if they're body's of past living people that where strong. I also think his skills are something new we haven't see just like Konon's.

Yep, albeit very slowly though. If you're interested in the Naruto storyline, I highly suggest you read the manga. It's much better than Shippuuden.

I hate to mention this theory I really do because I hate it, but isn't there a slight possibility that if Pain can simply change bodies like he's shown us he can....might he be Minato? >.<
:(

Though I think Konan is deffinately the girl in the team =)

And also... at one point I thought Ibiki might have been the other guy in Minato's team...but his age puts him in Kakashi's generation....but in chapter 124 when Jiraiya bursts in during the invasion, he tells him (Ibiki) he's grown, so they're obviously familiar...

Well, although it occurred to me at first, it couldn't be Minato. We've already confirmed that the use of the sealing jutsu absolutely results in death, in every case. If Sarutobi couldn't get out of that, I doubt that Minato could. Although there have been comments about Pain looking like Minato, I think there really isn't that much similarity. Their eyes are completely different.

And anyway, could anyone really see Minato, of all people, turning against his village? Or planning on killing his own son? I think not.

Blue? Where is Konan's hair shown as blue? *scratches head*
In the manga it's solid black in all appearances, but since the manga is drawn in black and white, the colour in the manga doesn't necessarily reflect reality. Anyway, changing hair colour certainly doesn't take that much effort, even for us normal people. :P

Oh, I recall it being black in the anime...>.< But that doesn't mean it's not true :)
Rin's hair was shown as a mousey-brown in the anime, but red in the artbook.

And I think at some point the back of her heaad was shown and coloured bright blue in Shounen Jump...but maybe it was a fan-colour?

That's possible if Minato found a loophole in using the Shiki Fuujin.

As for Ibiki, that's highly unlikely since like you said, he's from Kakashi's generation. If Minato were alive, he'd be in his late 30's-early 40's.

It is blue indeed. o_O Are you sure that was coloured by Kishimoto and not a scanlator/fan? Because a lot of covers provided in scanlations are actually fan-coloured, aren't they? I'm not really sure, just wondering.

I often wonder how fanartists know what colours to use with new characters...

Anyway, in the black and white pages, Konan has solid black hair, as did the girl on Minato's team in that one image. So, we can't really say if Minato's teammate had blue hair or not. From what I can see, they have similar eyes and facial expressions as well.

Why are the strangest hair colours always used for girls...?

Yes, that 2 page spread was included in the chapter that was published in WSJ.

It baffles me as to how they know which color to use. Though sometimes they completely miss the mark. One example is Karin. a fanartist colored her hair black. when the tankoubon for vol.39 was released turns out she had red hair.

Hmm now what is the relationship between Konan, Pain, and Jiraiya?

Jiraiya does not seem too surprised by her appearance, but then he is one cool toad xD
