Fire Emblem Awakening Controversy. (Nono Incident)

So apparently, Fire Emblem fans are getting into a hissy fit about Awakening.... While I haven't played it yet(Will be waiting outside at midnight to play this badboy.), the reviewers(In Japan) are saying the game is bananas good.

First off, the game has enough challenge for hardcore geek Fire Emblem fans who think even FE7 is too easy(Hector Hard Mode is brutal, they freaks from mars), Fire Emblem is a VERY traditional game with a ton of games in the series(Think of a long running game series like Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest), and the series is desperate for change -- there's only so many times you play as a noble prince/princess that had his/her parents slain by the main evil guy of their arc, no more generic noble protagonists who always "does right" and speak all stuffy like in the medieval days, no more dragons.....

The main character or characters- What? Get too the controversial part already? I'm getting there! HOLD ON!

Anyway.... where was I? Oh yeah, so you play with this new game named Krom and the other main character is a unit abbreviated to MU(My Unit), who is supposed to represent the player like the Tactician in FE7, only this time, you can talk(If you choose to not be a silent protagonists).

ANYWAY After all this effective changes they focus on this adorable(Okay, I'm buttering this one up) little girl who apparently Americans think she looks 10 but she's actually thousands of years old....So yeah, she's old enough to drive.

That's an image of Nono to show that she looks appropriate(For a T-Rated game anyway).

She is a bachelor for MU(Ya' know....You) if you're a dude, but as a best friend as a chick, she ages slowly because she's not human(I won't spoil it, so don't read the Wiki for too long). so she looks the same after she gives birth to some of the children in the second part of the game(After the first part you play with the kids of the main characters like you and Krom's children, or you have 2 I think if you as a girl get with Krom).

Why is this a problem? She's old enough, her looks are meaningless whenever she doesn't necessarily looks like jail-bait.

What do you guys think so far? Fire Emblem is a series full of beastiality, incest and homosexuality, so why this particular game gets heat....

It's anyone's guess really...

Funny how things go backwards in terms of what's acceptable. I think I remember games being far less PC in a lot of ways. The only thing that's sort of less PC now is blood and violence and even that is suddenly going backwards again to being less violent.

This is not the first Fire Emblem game though to have people that age more slowly or who are older then they look.It is probably only a problem because the game continues to the next generation and people are upset about her looks. If she didn't give birth to children no one would have said anything.

Well, plenty of young characters birth children, Nino being one of them, and she was a human girl.

I apologize I do not know Nino. However, I believe this is the first Fire Emblem to have multiple generations. I could be incorrect. It is possible that I just do not own any that do.

So it was merely a guess as to what the problem is.

Fumitsu are not lying about this games its good im 10 hours in my self best game in the franchsie snce FE IV imo and that hedy paize fro me if you consider FEiv is indsdei my top 20 games of all time

That what appears to be a relatively small girl (but is much much older) had children, and you play as her children while she's still around and still looking pretty young.

Ah, sorry for going all nerd on you, I guess I'm pretty much the only FE geek on this forum, lol, a lot of people don't play much FE, but FE4 is actually the first(and only apart from Kakusei/Awakening) to have multiple generations.

FE4 is one of the higher praised FE games, along with Rekka No Ken(FE7), and they both have incest, beastiality or both, lol.

And those are the higher praised ones, but It seems like you could have hit the hammer on the nail, a lot of the problem people keep complaining about is her ability to produce offspring whenever she herself looks to be young offspring, she looks childish and acts childish as well, which is strange...

I like the fact that most EVERYONE who played it are saying this game is beastly(And the not the beastiality kind FE is known for), it's only hyping me even more, Since you played the game....

Is Nono.....odd? As MUCH as I'd love to hear every detail....I have to torture myself until I can play the game in English.......in 2013...

Nah, I started Fire Emblem at Path of Radiance. I do not think you are the only fan, you have just been following it for much longer. Regardless of the controversy it is still selling well.

So how does it affect the chances of it still being localized? That's all I really care about, honestly. This game is pretty much the only reason (so far) I will eventually buy a 3DS.

FE4 with it's incest galore is a much bigger deal than this, lol.

It's coming in 2013 apparently, I don't know why this game takes so long to localize....

Yeah, FE4's incest empire and FE7's beastiality kingdom is among the top of the "Whine" pile.

I don't know why this 1000 year old girl matters.... lol. It comes out next year unfortunately.
