CoalGuys = translation errors? I think we got the wrong group here. 8thsin DOES NOT make translation errors.

Hu, hu, hu.

Hu, hu, hu.

I think he means they don't translate the literal meaning but instead go for a more natural translation approach. Some people don't like that but to be honest it doesn't really matter much.

I can't really understand Japanese for the little remarks, so the difference is too little for me to compare. Which ever has the best quality, which is probably the Blu Ray releases.

CoalGuys is fine for me since I know a bit of japanese, so if the translations seem odd, I can pick up on the mannerisms just fine.

I've always gone with Commie. All their translations make sense plus they are a rather entertaining group of fansubbers

Pick whoever releases fastest.

For me I go with horriblesubs for anime that's currently airing.

For bluray releases I go with whoever has the best quality.

I don't understand japanese so I can't really tell if a sub group makes errors, but as long as it makes sense in english with little to no grammar mistakes then it's fine by me.

That's why there's really no need to be picky with "translation errors" that really don't affect the quality of the show dramatically.

You mean the 1080p the original video DOESN'T ACTUALLY HAVE? That must look even worse than unfiltered 1080p BD's.

And everyone seems to forget Evetaku did this series too. Personally they do a good job although some people have issues with their more liberal translations (even though they always explain their most controversial choices in their website. And they did an excellent work on Inu x Boku SS.

They do it because that ranking list is prone to bandwagons and anonymous voting with no reasoning behind it. They want actual opinions.

It's omits some sub groups that picked up a particular project. Chihiro subs is also working on Ano Natsu.

I like horriblesubs.
Normally the website I go on to download the latest episodes has horriblesubs up first and when I watch them it is in' HD, translations pretty good and easy to read.

Hayaku is good with translations if you leave behind some normal grammatical mistakes. I tried their 10bit re-encode and was just fine though the quality was decent.
