Bunny helicopter? Cute. The mecha concepts seem ok. Not a fan of the sunglasses, but it worked foi Gokai Silver. Black pants are in lately, huh? The silver, the collar and those black things in the "jacket" are a bit strange, but I guess I'll get used to it. The metal hero partners are a new idea. Let's see what they'll do with it. Red's seems to have handles in its head. Maybe it becomes a bike... It's been ages since I've last saw a bike on a sentai. But it looks cool. Yellow's looks like the result of a threesome between R2 D2, C3PO and a rabbit. It seems to have wheels so it might turn into a sort of vehicle. Blue's looks too bulky to me, but the main problem is that face. But the binnocular blade looks terrible and I'm not very sure if the gun will look cool. I wish we had more info on the characters and on the enemies...

CCZilla said: Okay, I gotta ask...why are you so obsessed with getting a male yellow sentai member? not that i am obsessed but i just noticed that it has been nearly 6 years since super sentai last featured a male yellow ranger in magiranger, and i also have nothing against female yellow rangers. and not just that... it's been nearly 10 years since a super sentai last featured a sentai team of 5 people featuring 4 males and one female in gaoranger.. this does not count its successors hurricanger, abaranger and gekiranger that began with 3 and later expanded to 5 and as well as go-onger that started with 3 plus two plus two more, so in my opinion, i have a reason to at least have the 36th season feature a male yellow ranger, even though it means switching genders with the blue ranger like in liveman and hurricanger, although let's just look on the bright side... after Megaranger, its 5 direct successors all featured male yellow rangers, except that its fifth successor hurricanger changed the gender of its blue ranger, so 5 consecutive male yellow rangers is the maximum number, beating the initial maximum of four, as seen in denjiman, sun vulcan, goggle v and dynaman and later jetman, zyuranger, dairanger and kakuranger... if you will look at most of my concept sentai, they all featured male yellow rangers, though they are primarily homages to other anime and cartoons, just like jetman is an homage to gatchaman |

So, Yoko looks young, but she also looks convincing in her special agent role, even though she has her comedy moments. She is kinda bratty. Ryuji is the cool and professional guy. It seems he acts as an older brother for Yoko and he showed a little sense of humor. Hiromu is the big hearted red. Don't know if he'll be a leader yet. Nick acts kinda like Hiromu's best friend. Usada should be the cute one, but he is kinda rude and ironic. But I lol'd when he answered Roger Rabbit. Gori is a worry wart. Oh yeah, and he is Jiro. Fabulous french speaking villain. So, the main villain is called Messiah? Messiah no Burajira, messiah the mother of horrors... Where is their creativity? Not much on the commander or the male operator. Miho is pretty cute. So, it's morphin time and let's morphin? Also, the enemy giant was a megazord... The kaijin are machines infected by a virus and the giants are standard models with some weapon from the main kaijin... I wonder if the kaijin will somehow pilot the megazords. I'm not sold on the clothes yet. I'm just too used to the usual fabric. It looks like they're still using the civillian jackets many sentai have... The weapons look better than I expected though. CB-01 and it's forms were cool, but if he is that bulky alon, imagine the gattai... Nice to see a sentai member in a bike again. Didn't like the way they just throw their sunglasses away. It's a waste and it doesn't look that cool. That transportation method they used reminded me of Cybercop. They really nailed the whole special operations feeling. They really look like pros, unlike the guys that said they were pro all the time in Dekaranger. Nice dancing ED. My 1st impression was very good. Let's see if they can keep it up.

Episode 1: Well, that was interesting to say the least. Great cinematography during the giant robot sequences. Definitely a sense of scale you don't normally see in sentai going on there. The time-limit before transportation is cool, but I can see it getting old fast. Gonna take me a while to get used to the leads. Hiromu looks like he could be a cool lead, but I feel nothing for Ryuji or Yoko yet. Good god, there's a HUGE discrepancy between Yoko and when she transforms into YellowBuster. Far too noticeable to make it believable she's actually fighting. I've never been a fan of dancing endings, so...yeah. Meh. Still, there are a lot of interesting ideas going on here. Let's see if they can continue to make them work.

Yes, I actually watched episode 1. It was not what I'd expected, but enjoyable. The cast doesn't leave much of an impression. I dug their outfits, however. Though they look less like the usual sentai uniform, I like the fabric and simple style of them. I'm probably going to snicker every single time I hear "it's morphin' time!" because I did this episode.

2 I like how they are really building the background of the setting and how they show that there is a whole operation behind the busters. The interactions between the busters was well done and the promise moment was nice. The fights were VERY good. I really liked them. And the powers (and weaknesses) were interesting. I just hope they don't end up forgetting the powers. But since they went out of the way to give the the weaknesses, I think they won't. The only thing really different are the buddyroids. I wonder how they'll influence the show.

Episode 2: My god, I hate YellowBuster. What a whiny brat. And we're getting more of the same in episode 3. Lovely. The fights were seriously cool though. I'm convinced whoever designed the mecha fights for this series has some Ultraman background. These are just on a whole different scale from past sentai. Interesting background for the team. The whole computer program thing could go some interesting directions. Or it could used as a lame gimmick to get Hiromu to freak out over chickens. Either/or.

Ep 2 is watched! I don't even know why I like this one. Yellow is indeed a mess, Red has zero impact, and only blue has some interest for me, being a fair bit older than the other two. I think it's their Buddyroids that amuse me. Reminds me of KR Den-O. I only snickered a little bit this episode, but I was distracted. ;) Oh, I like Red's freeze-up, but I'm disappointed that didn't give Blue and Yellow something more computer-like as well. Blue's is just barely there. Their comparison to computers is the aspect of the show that most excites me.

Well, as I said I accept Blue's, but Yellows is pushing it. Too human-like as well, and I would've preferred she needed an electrical charge or something. I mean, Red literally freezes in place like a mannequin. That's hilarious and very visual, but seeing that yellow collapses without any sweets? Come on. =/ It's just not... interesting. I suspect one our upcoming members will have something like a subjectivity to viruses/colds (constant sniffles), which would've been cuter for Yellow, but they had to make her a little tough girl. |

Episode 3: I officially can't stand YellowBuster. I actually said to my brother as we were watching it that she would bitch at RedBuster for saving her life and, well, she did. So yeah, I've given up on her. I can't stand that type of character. But MAN, I really love the mecha fights in this show. It is not every sentai that you see a gorilla swing on a bridge's support beams. And I loved how time really passed in this fight. We went from late afternoon to sunset and finally nighttime. Sweet stuff right there. The characters are still plain, and Enter's French has just gotten old. So yeah, this isn't a great sentai so far by ANY stretch of the imagination. The mecha fights single-handedly save this show for me.

3 So, Enter is kinda smart, but Messiah just wants to rage... If only he had booze and a female shamisen player to soothe his anger... It worked wonders with Doukoku. A virus that turns people into cyborgs. Interesting. They have to re-morph if they take the helmets off? Not practical. Why store 02 in the middle of a heap of containers? Couldn't they just make a normal base? banana missiles? Kinda lame. I guess Yoko will stop being all bitchy around Hiromu now. It's normal to have members that don't get along well on the start on sentai. I really like how they make it look like an operation. I mean, they had to go get enetron, had to deal with the kaijin and help the victims. I just wish they showed them aplying some sort of vaccine to the people with metal masks. Far better than just having the kaijin attack, the rangers arrive, kill him, and then deal with the giant form. Seeing the time pass was also nice. The fights were good again and the giant fights were cool, thoug i think becoming the truck would be faster than swinging on the bridge. I guess it was rush hour.

In response to Susan's post in the Fourze thread: Normally, I ignore the mecha fights in sentai as well. They tend to be bland, uninteresting, and wholly unnecessary (I love Bioman, but the mecha fights in that series are ungodly terrible). That said, what I love about Go-Busters's mecha sequences are that they stick out. They're dynamic, they're cinematic, they're DIFFERENT. In what has so far been a rather underwhelming sentai, it's nice to see something unique in this show. And I'm sorry, but YellowBuster's nonstop bitching for these past three episodes has gone beyond understandable and veered right into completely ridiculous. It really doesn't help that the actress is completely terrible. I agree BlueBuster is boring, however. He hasn't gotten nearly enough screentime for me to care about him at all.

Did I seriously post that in the Fourze thread? Oy vey. Copy-paste power ACTIVATE! Ep 3: I didn't think yellow was that annoying this episode. Blue, on the other hand, better get some focus soon because he's sort of boring. I think it's a guy thing to pay so much attention to the mech fights. I almost never do, and the gorilla-on-the-bridge thing wasn't that impressive. I mean, it's nice that they finally realized they can do better in the effects department, or at least have the budget to do so, but it's nothing to really wow me so far.

I disagree with pretty much everything CC said about the show, except for the mecha fights. Normally it's just: "let's get into the big robot and kill the enemy". But in this series, they have, at least until now, a lot of different things to do. Being different is good. Oh, Yellows actress isn't good. But the others are crap as well, except of the commander. It's hard to see a toku with good acting. Or maybe my standards are high. Either way, I just ignore it.

Pretty much that. It's not like the show depends on the busters being good actors. Ok, sometimes bad acting can be a pain, like in Genta's case. But that didn't make Shinkeger a bad show.

If they want this team dynamic to work, then yes, I believe acting skills are important. Hell, I'd say the acting in Super Sentai is more important than the acting in Kamen Rider. I dunno, I just found this episode incredibly bland outside of the mecha action. And considering it's just episode 3, that's not a good sign. And yes, I remember hating Genta too. *fist-bumps m4rc0* His bad acting didn't kill the show, but it did weaken it. I'm not saying it's JUST YellowBuster's acting that hurts the show for me. It's the uninteresting characters, the use of the "weaknesses" as just a lame gag instead of an actual debilitating handicap, and yes, the bad acting from all 3. I'm not ready to drop this show like I was with Go-Onger around this point 4 years back but this show is giving me a serious Goseiger vibe, which is almost worse.

5 So before crashing, Ryu goes berserk. He killed the kaijin in a pretty violent way. I understand that Yoko was shocked and that she is a teenager, but I think crying like that was a bit too much. She could've cried more quietly. It's been I while since I last saw sentai members using cars... Since Deka, I guess. It als has been a while since they didn't show the gattai right away. The buddyroids remind me of the taros. And the way they sing the ED of Climax Jump Den-Liner form. Yoko's fighting is similar to Ran-chan's. The fighting was good again, but the giant part wasn't that cool. I guess they needed to show Usada's mecha before the gattai. The good thing about 3-man teams is that it doesn't take too long to have the members interacting with each other. If only the characters were cooler... I hope they keep using the powers and weaknesses and don't forget them or this operation feeling and teh variety the series has now.
