@Catpaw and @omnimalevolent1 Thanks for the input. It's hard to find something that represents a whole subculture and those were the first two objects that came to mind. XD That cat ears came up because nekomimii seems to be something that is popular amongst a good amount of anime fans I know. Onigiri is just beacause it is food from the culture and I find people who love anime are also interested in Japanese culture for the most part.

Now an other idea arises though. What would you say depicts an anime fan? What would be the first thought? It's like I'm holding a focus group lol. XD

Someone mentioned that ninja stars would be a good choice. Perhaps a huge sword or some other kind of weapon. A mecha?

lol... how about a fat otaku eating nachos? :P

mmmm... I dunno about what would best represent anime fans.... or even what would best represent Japan as a whole (And I have even been there). Perhaps a Gundam would be a decent place to start though... :\ I think it really depends on what sort of anime yall watch, and what your focus is (is it just anime, or Japanese culture as a whole?)

Well, it's really difficult to summarize the concept of anime fan with 2-3 objects.
I'm not sure about the ninja stars. It's true that mainstream anime has been based on Naruto for some time, but i feel it's now in a declining phase in favour of some other newer anime, maybe Bleach? I'm not sure, i don't follow shounen anime since a long time, i'm from the generation of Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon. Back then, popular anime was all about yellow crystal balls with red stars and magical sticks... and don't forget Pokemon.
I think you should consider anime outside the "what's popular now" that dictates objects that evoke an anime image. Ninja or samurai are definitely not an anime-only thing, they're prominent in Japanese movies (just think of Kurosawa) and drama.

A thing that's always been strictly related to anime is mecha, you don't find it anywhere else and it's been there since the mid 70's at least, so i think that's a great idea. Another thing might be mahou shoujo, but i know almost nothing from this genre. Maybe someone else who likes it can help us? :)
Kemonomimi are also anime-specific and the most widely known are nekomimi, so that's a good idea too. The difficult thing might be how to draw it. If you're drawing a mecha, why not put a cute neko girl on the other side? And maybe some cute-faced onigiri flying around between them? Or writing the A of "anime" with an onigiri? xD
Just some ideas, let us know what you decide for ^^

I like the idea of a cat girl, also consider doing it without images. It looks good by itself with just the text and colors.

Good! I like the girl in pic 3, who is she? Or is she an original character of yours?
In the last pic i like the absent mindedness of the first and the badassery of the second.

@xen20: sorry?? :P

@Catpaw: the girl in the third pic is just some random character (by me).. (the guy is supposed to be Oga Tatsumi from Beelzebub, but I think the doesn't look like him so much) on the pic it looks like they are related, but actually I didn't intend that, they are taken from some paper where I had a couple of random sketch on ^^

but aside of that girl all characters are from mangas.. in the first three there is Oga Tatsumi from Beelzebub, in the fourth, there he is again as well as Sanada Yukimura (twice) and Sarutobi Sasuke from Sengoku Basara, and on the 5th pic, there is first Gintoki from Gintama, then Han Shinwoo from Noblesse, then Hijikata from Gintama (at least it's supposed to be him :p) and the last one should be Oga again ^^

and thanks @ all =D

yea, the girl I drew there has not the same but a rather similar hairstyle to Hilda (at least not something completely different). I had to think about Hilda as well, after I finished those sketches ^^
but as said, she's just some random, no name character I happen to draw..

have been drawing another Oga sketch ^^ trying for different expressions (more or less..)

@bunnicat: thx =) your "kind of old one" is really cute :3 the others are nice as well :D

@bbmello: thx =) the first one should be Gintoki from Gintama and the 2nd Han Shinwoo from Noblesse =)
I drew this one once.. kind of a self portrait (not regarding the looks but regarding the mood) which has a similar expression I think ^^

I draw a little bit. Unfortunately the scanner really bleaches this one out, but I'm happy with how it turned out. I was mainly trying to get the hair to work, and it's not perfect but... it's better than usual.

" The student council of JäSi (abbreviation from the school's name) wishes you merry Christmas

Please, take some Glögi and gingerbread!"

I'm not part of the student council, but my classmate is the president and she asked me to help my other friend to do that flyer.

Great pictures! The frozen cherries one is great, but i like the first two too! I've never seen ice taking such forms as in the second one before. The first one is stunning and looks so professional!

Are those cherries? How is that the tree has still them on?
