Thanks for telling me about your con staffing experiences! I figured that's how they'd be like, since I've read and been told similar things. My problem is pulling away from all the things I wanna see and narrowing it down to a handful of things that were absolute MUST SEES. It'd be a cool way to look at conventions in a new light and I'm sure I'll crack down and do it at some point just to experience it, but for now, going to the convention as an attendee means so much to me. I get to travel where I want, do what I want when I want... it's very liberating rather than being stuck to a schedule and working... that's what work is for. Sure, there are perks to volunteering and staffing, but right now I think I'm enjoying the attendee time too much.

I'd probably do it for a smaller convention, like Katsucon, that has had some experience with running for a long time, but also has large gaps in the schedule that I find myself not doing much of anything other than checking my 3DS.

You have told me you're a furry before and that's cool. I have no problem with furries, I have a couple of friends who are and their fursuits are amazing. It's not my thing, but I'm not a hater. Furries get some serious trash from people and it's really quite sad. People just need to be more open minded and understanding and that way they'll be educated and better for the world around them. Being a furry is just one aspect of someone, there's plenty more to that as well. I don't get what the big deal is to all of these nasty people hating down on them.

That's a shame, though, that you have such a cool cosplay and never got to don it! You totally need to, dang it! Hopefully soon, right? Let's be optimistic!

My favorite Sailor Senshi changed all the time. I liked Venus, Mars, Neptune, and Saturn... but I've always liked Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi Moon... and SuperS was my absolute favorite season because of it. I liked how they had to work together despite being at each others throats. I know a lot of people hate that season because the manga is totally different and the outer senshi left, but that just makes you excited for Sailor Stars, right?! At least that's my reasoning. I understand why people hate Chibi Moon and Moon, though, and how that season feels like a big waste to them. It's also when the ratings tanked in Japan, apparently. It's a shame, I always felt SuperS also had the best villains who were all under a circus theme. That's just my opinion, though.

Sailor Jupiter was cool, though. When I was first into the show I dressed as her for Halloween. Good times! I also still have all of the cards from the TCG! Haha, wow, that brought back memories, too.

I disagree with you; I think it's a good idea to have Sailor Moon make a comeback, mainly because it's so popular to this day and the animation is kinda dated now. Also there were a lot of gripes about the anime being different from the manga and people are looking forward to this adaptation which is supposed to be closer to the manga's story. When you starve a market of fans for SO LONG they're bound to get excited about anything new--merchandise, a rerelease of the manga, and a new series! It's a good time to get into Sailor Moon, whether you enjoyed it years ago or are just getting into it now.

I argue this especially because there was so much complaining about Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Brotherhood, which is the adaptation of the manga, people complained about because it came out SO FAST after Fullmetal Alchemist ended. It was just five years and the hype and fandom was still crazy about it for quite some time afterward, especially after it got the popularity boost from [adult swim]. So many people came to the conclusion that they weren't gonna watch it because they just finished the last series and didn't want to do it again. There are still a lot of people that feel that way and it's a shame, because I feel like they're missing out. I think if Brotherhood came out for a ten year anniversary or something, then I think the reaction would have been much better. That's why I think Sailor Moon Crystal is getting that good attention now--it's been 20 years and people wanna see more from it.

I remember liking the Tokyo Mew Mew manga but I've had a hard time trying to get into the anime. I should jump back into that. It is a really cute series, though, so I don't blame you. Anthro is cool stuff. I know it's not similar, but I like My Little Pony, so seeing that kind of fan art come out from that fandom can be really cool to see, too.

Aww, but that's really sweet of you to do that for your Mom, though. I made my Mom earrings. It took a long time, but I liked how they turned out and she liked them, too, so I'm happy.

My mouth is starting to feel better, thank you! It's a little hard to talk and chew, but I'm getting there. It's at least much better than it was earlier this week, so I can be grateful for that much. @_@

Oh goodness, you got dry socket?! I'm sorry. I've been reading up on that and trying to be extra careful during this until my checkup later this week.

Thanks and have a good day, too! :D

Hey, dude! I'm sorry to reply to you so late. I'm sorry your message screwed up on you. I can't tell you how many times that has happened to me...! DX

I want to try being con staff at some point but I feel like I always find things on the schedule that keep me busy and would hate to miss. I have a couple friends who think I'd be really good at it, but I don't know. I consider convention time to be vacation time, so having to work it seems a little counterproductive to my experience. XD

I haven't cosplayed in years and I realize to do it now it's just become an added expense that could be put towards something else. Not that I don't want to cosplay ever again, but it's nice to have the $100 or so extra to put towards food or impulse purchases. So instead of going in an all out cosplay, I just take things from my cosplay box and put those on, like kitty ears and a collar, or a set of angel wings--whatever I can get away with wearing at a convention that wouldn't go down so well in everyday life, you know? XD I have a lot of cool stuff so it's nice to be able to go to a convention and break that box out and wear some stuff from it. Otherwise it wouldn't get any use outside of certain holidays, such as bunny ears on Easter and my Santa hat for Christmas.

Summer is awesome but the only downside is living on the east coast with all the humidity. I want to experience more dry heat... the humidity is the thing that gets to everybody. I feel dehydrated just thinking about it, ugh.

And thanks for the head's up about Sailor Moon Crystal! I have been keeping up to date on the news about that! XD I am excited for it but I am also trying to keep my expectations low just in case if it doesn't go so well, hahah. I think I want to be able to treat it as a great homage to the manga as well as a blast from the past of my childhood, but I feel like that's a tough call for one show to do on its own, so I'm trying to think lightly of it. That still doesn't stop my excitement, though. I'm conflicted on the art style, though. I'm hoping seeing it animated will make me feel more at ease about it.

I'm sorry about your loss. Don't worry about the slow reply, it happens to everyone, including me. Work has been keeping me busy since Mother's Day is pretty much spring time Christmas for retail. Also, I got my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday and I've been restless and weak for the past two days. It really sucks, I just want to be normal again! I miss feeling full when I eat and being able to walk around without feeling exhausted and lightheaded. Thank goodness it's only temporary, right?

I hope you have a good day~ <3

Sorry for the delayed reply~

I think MAGfest used to be held in Virginia but for the past few years it has been in the Gaylord National Hotel outside of DC. It's technically in Maryland, but it's so close to DC. It's been held in early January, but next year it's going to be held near the end of January. It'll be nice to actually have some money - being right after New Years and the holidays when people are broke is a tough time to hold a con! I just hope it doesn't snow too bad. It snowed when I was up there this year, but it wasn't that bad, thank goodness.

Actually, come to think of it, it snowed a lot during Katsucon. It snowed a lot the week before and was during a period of when we were getting on and off snow every week. It was crazy. I'm sure the weather prevents some folks from heading out to the con, which is a shame. But whether or not you get to go to MAGfest or Katsucon, let me knowwww!

I do agree that cons are most fun when you have friends with you, but MAGfest and Katsucon I wound up attending by myself because the friends I asked to go with me couldn't make it. I met some friends there, of course, but I've found fun in being able to experience the con at my own pace, too. That way I can switch up plans on myself if I want, like if an autograph line takes longer than expected, it's okay because I can decide if the autograph is truly worth the wait, or if I really wanna go to the next panel, for example. It's more fun to hang out in those lines and stuff with people to talk to, though. Sometimes I strike up conversation with people in line because we're all interested in seeing this thing we're all in line for, so it's cool to interact in those situations, too. I'm at the point where I kind of enjoy both, but I understand what you mean. There's some loneliness, but that's when you gotta be your own best friend and say to yourself, "That was fun, what else do you wanna do?" and make yourself look forward to shopping in the Dealer's Room, or the next panel, or just wandering around the convention center looking at cosplay. :D

Man, workplaces need to be considerate to their workers. Snow is a risk to anyone driving, no matter what kind of vehicle you have or who is driving. I'm glad your situation turned out okay without you getting seriously hurt, though. That's scary. And yeah, there were cars watching me spin out and the thought of them possibly hitting me scared me, too. I'm so glad all the snow is over for now...! I don't ever want to deal with that kind of situation ever again!

I can't wait for summer! I absolutely love swimming. I could spend days in a pool. Also, summer time is convention time, so it brings a lot of happy memories for me, despite it being so hot. Ice cream, swimming pools, conventions, the beach, longer daytime, air conditioning... it all just sounds like paradise~ <3

But I definitely love spring, too, because I like watching all the flowers that spring up... and all of the absolutely perfect weather. Yeaaaaaaah!! <3

It's kinda cold outside right now, otherwise this talk makes me want to go out and experience the sunshine. I hope things have been good for you today~ :D

The comments are acting up? Weird. Or maybe that's not what you mean? I'm sorry. XD

I've been good, thank you! Today was slightly bummer-ish, but I'm trying to get over it. Seeing a comment from you certainly lifted my spirits! :D

I've been to two cons so far this year, MAGfest and Katsucon. MAGFEST WAS AMAZING. I was blown away by the experience. Dunno if you've heard of it, but it stands for Music and Gaming Festival - and they prefer to be called a festival and not a con, as it is their name. And while it is similar to a con, it feels way more laidback and great. I loved every minute of it. Katsucon was okay - I didn't go as long this year so I missed out on some stuff, but I liked this Katsucon better than last year's. My next con is Otakon. I hope to be able to afford traveling to more conventions soon enough! :D

The weather has been crazy so far this year, too. So much on and off snow - it'd clear up, only to snow a couple more inches within a few days. It was insane! I drove in it at one point and it was super not fun. I burst out crying once I made it to work in one piece, only to find out I didn't have to show up because they were closing early - but no one called me and said I didn't have to show up! It was scary! It was my first time really driving in crazy snow like that and now I know why they tell people not to do it! I did a 360 in the middle of a three laned road for goodness sake!

It's getting warmer now, which is nice. I've missed seeing green grass and flowers. It's very pretty~ It's also been hot the past couple of days, but it's supposed to get colder again in a few more days. The weather just can't make up its mind! D:

Ooooooh, awesome stuff! Have a great time at the concert! You have a great evening, too! <3

If you were in a dormant state on the site for the time being I didn't mean to awaken you if you didn't wish to be awakened. XD I just wanted to randomly tell you I love you and miss chatting with you, and if I got a response, I'd consider myself lucky and very happy! :D

I've been away from the site for a while because life things and lack of interest in watching any anime. But I started watching some stuff again over the past few weeks - there's been a handful of titles that keep bouncing up, like Kill la Kill and Attack on Titan that I felt I should finally get around to watching. Kill la Kill was amazing, but I have yet to start on Attack on Titan. I'm looking forward to it, though.

Awww, I love our talks. I don't know why I read your comment in a sad tone of voice, but for some reason I did. But it's good to hear from you and I'm glad to hear you're doing okay. <3

Long time no chat! It looks like you haven't been around for a while, but I was rereading some of our conversations and thought of you!! They were definitely long but that's what made them so much fun to read and write! I hope you're doing well!

MAL's up again. Long time no talk, I've been watching some anime and there were lots of romances, most of them drama so I'm not really sure if you'd like them. But there was one which was part comedy and featured both furry characters and catgirls: Shining Tears x Wind.

It's a really mediocre show, but the whole building trust and use those feelings as a weapon was really nice. I promise, I'll focus on watching Escaflowne and then Shakugan no Shana (since I told you long ago that I'd watch that one).
