Not an anime but I think Zennou no Noa has a Code Geass feeling. The main character reminds me about Lelouch and his ideals.

Not a third season sadly, a gaiden series.

Haven't watched this myself and am just going by what I've read about it, but 07-Ghost maybe?

No... 07-Ghost is definitely more of hot bishie fanservice for girls, instead of strategy and serious plot.

Other than Death Note, sadly, I haven't found another series that reminds me much of Code Geass.

believe me, I have been looking for something similar forever (besides death note, that is). So these threads are kind of fun for me :)

The closest thing I have ever found is Innocent Venus. It has a lot of similarities in terms of setting, main characters, mechs that are in the show without being the main focus, and a plot that involves the characters trying to out-wit each other.

Another one that is a bit similar is Berserk, although I haven't finished it yet, but it has a similar dynamic where one character is a skilled military strategist, one is a skilled warrior, and one is a female warrior who loves the strategist character.

If you are into the best-friends-who-become-enemies plot, the best example of that which I have found other than code geass is Ga Rei Zero, which also has some of the best music and animation I have ever watched.

A pretty good series where the main character goes from being an ordinary (or so he thinks) kid to being a great leader through various fights etc is Jyu Oh Sei. It's not too long but it's good.

Le Chevalier d'Eon shares some similarities with CG. In this one, the main character is trying to find out who killed his sister, instead of who killed his mother. Lia (the sister) is similar to Lelouch's mother in that she was very important in the royal court, and despite being 'dead' she is still a major character in the story due to supernatural events. Also, in both animes the characters have to use similar ways of out-witting people who want them dead, and there is a lot of royalty/ court intrigue involved.

Scryed was made by the same director as Code Geass. It has a similar plot in the sense that it follows the lives of two young men on opposite sides of a war. However, it's not quite as serious as CG, but even though personally I'm usually into more serious stuff, I still found it really enjoyable.

Another one made my the same director (Taniguchi FTW) is Ryvius. Even though it's actually not that similar to CG, it does have a similar aspect of a comparatively powerless group of young people using strategy and a giant mecha to try to escape from more powerful enemies. Also like CG, it has a large cast of characters but still manages to make a lot of them feel real and well developed.

Gundam SEED has a lot of the same contrived melodrama and friends fighting each other. Probably the closest bet I can think of.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes is only really similar in that it concerns a young ambitious commander and has lot of big battles. Other than that, it doesn't rely on melodrama and flashy stuff and is more slow paced and deep. But I'd definitely recommend it anyways.

Thx for the big detailed info,
but im looking for anime that has a touching moments some good comedy and a great strategy
like lelouches or Kiras, and some royalty story and a war..

if you could pick from those animes youve wrote above the best choice it would be great.

Kaiji might also be a good bet for you. It's about the protagonist trying to outwit his opponents. Got strategy, far more psychological than CG, yet no comedy.

From someone who likes CG as much as you.
I dun like FMP that much. But anyway it was a very worthwhile watch. If you're fixated on strategy-based thingy, it won't work very well. But still a great mecha show with a touch of romcom.

You should try out LoGH too. But be prepared and take a breadth to dive into one 110 ep long OVA that is slow-paced, hard to get into at first few episodes, packed with substance, and gets thicker and thicker as it goes on. What I can say for sure is that your thirst for strategists taking on each other will be thoroughly quenched by LoGH.
We are the United. Even in defeat we stand united.

If you like Code Geass I wouldn't take this guy seriously as he gave the first season a 3, and the second one a one while giving far shittier anime much higher scores.

FMP doesn't quite reach its levels, but it is a whole lot funnier than CG. Code Geass is the better show overall, though.

What can I say, I value depth and quality.

But true, if what you liked in CG was the hilarious twists and fast pacing, FMP probably isn't as good. It's also more light on the melodrama.
But in any other aspect, I'd say FMP is clearly superior.

Full Metal Panic is good but lacks a lot of things to make it great, on the other hand Full Metal Panic Fumoffu and The Second Raid is where this series shine, I personally prefer Code Geass though but that's just me. I suggest going through FMP quickly, get used to the characters then the real fun starts with the last 2 seasons. You'd probably regret watching the whole series cuz you're gonna want a season 4 and there aren't gonna be any.

I'd suggest Monster, Akagi, Kaiji, and Gankutsuou. None of them have much if any comedy, all pretty dark, but honestly I can't see why Code Geass is considered comedy in the first place.

Because it's a comedy compared to Logh.

hmm...TBH most of those are not comedies, although some of them do have comic moments. None of them have entire episodes set aside for comedy the way CG does though XD

I think Ryvias and Innocent Venus are probably the best choices, they both have strategy and some comic moments here and there.

Sorry. Apples and Oranges. I don't see them as comparable.

Tizara's suggestions of:
Innocent Venus
Berserk
Jyu Oh Sei
Le Chevalier d'Eon
Scryed
Ryvius

Other good suggestions:
Gundam Wing
Gundam Seed
Legend of the Galactic Heroes
Monster
Gankutsuou

7-Ghosts, no.

I've been searching for one for a long time and haven't found one (other than Death Note) that comes close. if you don't mind reading, the first five chapters of the new series are out.

Right, that's your opinion. Code Geass is one of the highest rated shows on this site and Lelouch is the most favourited character. Your definition of depth and quality is clearly skewed as all of the evidence and the amount of people who gave Code Geass a 10/10 is in direct contradiction of your line of reasoning.

Naah, that's just because the plebeian masses has no Taste and jump on anything with lots of flash and fanservice :)
But I've already made a rant over that in my blog, so feel free to comment on it if you have anything worthwhile to say, we've been getting rather off topic with this here.
