My friend and I are planning to get together soon and have an anime marathon. We were wondering what some good options are.
We are both on episode 35 of Bleach and were considering marathoning that. Would that be a good idea?

If you can marathon 275 more episodes of Bleach in one night, then I'd say go for it.

But the answer is pretty obvious here:
BACCANO. NUFF SAID.

Enjoy ~

You can go on marathoning Bleach, but if you want something shorter you can complete in a few sessions or less I'd second Baccano! or recommend Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Monster or Welcome to the NHK, all series I marathoned in 1-3 days.
I probably regret this post by now.

I used to marathon bleach 1-55 as they were the dvds that I had :p

If you want something fresh and non generic though, Gintama marathons are great fun. I found that the episodes went by really quickly and I never failed to laugh or be awed.

One piece was also easy to marathon too, I got up to 155 on my last re-watch.

I've always found it easy to marathon Zero no Tsukaima.

If you want a little more depth try Welcome To The NHK!

If it's a lads night in Black Lagoon is all out action, sure that would go down well.

As for Bleach i guess you could marathon some, perhaps up until the rescue.

Totally thirding Baccano! It's a great series to marathon. Tatami Galaxy is also a fantastic anime, and is best when watched in marathon.

Black Lagoon looks pretty awesome to both of us. We do love some action, and we are both guys. We might be watching that.

We would probably be watching the end of the rescue arc if we did Bleach.

A lot of people are recommending Baccano though. Hm...

Seirei no Moribito? If you like paranormal (more traditional ghosts & such than the Aliens) it will totally hold your attention through the marathon. :)

I'm guessing your probably judging it by its cover and thinking it doesn't look too good?

We'll, I'd recommended you try the first few episodes first. Ep1 might be kinda slow but its just an introduction episode. Once you get pass that and get to where they're on the train, everything gets good and you wont want to wait for the next episode and watch it right away. I didn't expect it too be good either the first time i watched it but it was worth the watch.

If you do decide to watch Baccano, go watch Durarara afterwards.

One Anime I do remember marathon'n that you havent seen yet is HunterXHunter.

Not really. Half the episodes don't deal with much anything paranormal. But Ghost Hunt does.

Some of my favorite marathon runs:

-The Irresponsible Captain Tylor - for sci-fi and good humor

-Berserk - for drama, action, and awesomeness

-Cromartie High School - for pure nonsense. good with alcohol

-Vandread - for all-around favorite marathon series

Baccano! is fantastic. When I've done marathons with friends, often with plenty of junk food and some tasty mixed drinks, I always go for over the top action titles. Baccano doesn't dissapoint in that area, Black Lagoon is always a great choice, and Hellsing Ultimate, all shows loaded with bad-assery that you can stay awake for.

Agreeing about only doing bleach up until the Bounto Arc, it gets really dull around that point... ._. At least whip out the handy list of bleach fillers (google it, it'll come up right away), and just skip all the filler.

Oh well, I am sorry if I interpreted the fact that main character is a carrier for Sacred Being paranormal. :)

And seconding Ghost Hunt! xD

Well, yeah, but half the episodes don't even mention that- it's just him and Balsa attempting to live a normal life in a spall villiage.

From your plan to watch list - Try marathoning Monster (keep a pee bucket nearby, you won't want to be far from the screen)
Or maybe try GTO - its a 5x as fun when you watch it with someone else
