#1 Theme: New Year, New 'Me Explanation: You know your favorite anime? Yeah, we're going to do something completely different. Get out of your comfort zone. No favorite anime? You're gonna have to work harder. 🔪

Watch an anime that does NOT share any MAL genres, themes, or demographics with your top favorite anime -OR- an anime with no MAL genres, themes, or demographics. — State the option used. The top favorite refers to what appears leftmost on your profile.
Watch an anime that started airing 10 or more years before or after your top favorite anime -OR- an anime that started airing in 1979 or before. — State the option used. Ignore the month/day for the aired dates, e.g., an anime that started airing on December 31, 2005 is valid if your favorite anime started airing on January 1, 2015.
Watch an anime with a difference of at least 4 main characters than your top favorite anime -OR- an anime with no listed characters. — State the option used. For example, if your favorite anime has 6 main characters, any valid anime would have 1, 2, or 10+ main characters.
Watch an anime with a studio that is NOT on the list of Top Companies. — State the studio.

#3 Theme: The first of the first Explanation: January is the first month of the year, so we will celebrate the firsts.

Watch an anime whose first letter of the main title matches the first letter of your username. -- If your username starts with something other than a letter, skip it until the first letter.
Watch an anime whose first letter of the main title matches the first letter of the first anime you watched. -- Use the anime with the oldest starting (watch) date on your anime list.
Watch an anime whose first letter of the main title matches the first letter of the name of a main character. -- It must be the first name and not the last name. For example, Hinata, Shouyou for Haikyuu!! would be invalid; Saotome, Ranma for Ranma ½ would be valid.
Watch an anime whose first letter of the main title matches the first letter of the ordinal numbered day it began airing. -- Use the listed date on MAL and the number of the day. Ordinal refers to first, second, third and so on. If an anime began airing April 6th, you will need a title that begins with S (sixth); for an anime that aired on December 12th, a title that starts with T (twelfth); and so on.

#5 Theme:New Year, New Me Explanation: As the new year have started, you should try out something completely new. Get a new life, a new passion, a new favorite, discover something entirely different than what you have seen so far.

Watch an anime that is not related to anything you have seen before The anime may have prequels, sequels or any other relations if you haven’t started any of them.
Watch an anime that is tagged with one of your TOP 5 least watchedGenres according to your MAL Statistics page State the tag used. Least Watched sorted by Count. Exclude explicit genres, themes, demographics. A screenshot is suggested in case the list changes. What to set on the Statistics page.
Watch an anime from a Studio or Producer you haven’t seen anything from State the Studio/Producer used.
Watch an anime with a Voice Actor or Staff Member you haven’t seen anything from State the person used. They may have any kind of role in the anime, may be voice actor of any languages, director, theme song artist, etc.
All submissions MUST be sent via private message (any posted submissions will be deleted and ignored).
— If you don't see your submission added after voting is open, please contact an admin on this club discord server ASAP.
zhabnica cannot make a challenge submission for the next month due to winning the current monthly challenge.
Do not submit a bonus in your submission as all bonuses will be removed (regardless of the month).
Remember that your submission should consist of four (4) items.
— All monthly challenges will have a requirement of "anime used must be equal to or longer than 15 minutes (total)".
— Your items can't be restrictive, or require watching a specific anime. They should provide an equal pool of options for everyone, regardless of how much anime they have watched.
— Make sure to read the Rules / Explanation thread for the rest.
Your submission must not contain any item used on the last monthly challenge, as those items are in a one month cooldown.
We reserve the right to request those submitting a challenge to revise their items, as to make it easier for both participants and inspectors.
