| They are round, they come in pairs, they are nice to look at, and the anime industry seems obsessed with them. The point is that the eyes are often the most distinctive feature of a character's design. When all is said and done, there is only so much you can do with hair, boobs and asses. Some will say that no two ear designs look the same, but who looks at ears anyway. With eyes, on the other hand, you have a chance to come up with something absolutely unique. No wonder some character designs have more attention and creativity put into the eyes than into the rest of the features combined. (Not necessarily good, but unique. You may have seen Acro Trip a couple of seasons ago: the eye design was unique, but it almost made me drop the series.) So, what's your favorite eye design this season? Is there anything to top Azusa from Bukiyou na Senpai?  It feels like Oshi no Ko done right, doesn't it? Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi might be a contender: A common trend these days are the multiple light reflections, as in Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun: Although in this show you're probably not looking at the eyes. Then there's one design found everywhere these days: Others prefer the minimalistic approach: Which is why you rarely see any closeups in these. So, what's the best eye design this season? |

| From the Fall 2025 season, if we’re excluding sequels, I’d say this is my top 3 in terms of prettiest eye designs: 1. Amelia Rosequartz from Sutetsuyo 2. Siren from SI-VIS: The Sound of Heroes 3. Yuzuki Nanase from Chitose-kun wa Ramune Bin no Naka I don’t watch seasonals much nowadays, and so I don’t know anything about the newest characters and their respective anime, but I’d say Amelia wins the prettiest eye design of the season for me, and Siren comes at a very close second. I’m not too big of a fan of Yuzuki Nanase’s overall eye and eyebrow shape, but I do like how watery her irises look, so I’ll put her at the number 3 spot lol.  |
